Ohio Football vs. Texas Football

Oneshot

Goes For Three
I'm not talking about the big game in September, but I just watched Friday Night Lights, and that is a warped culture, man...

I was wondering if that kind of football worship goes down in Ohio just as it doesn in Texas? (on a highschool, college, and pro level)

I live in Cali, and we're more about surfing than football

If there are two states where high school football is its own true sub-culture, Ohio and Texas are those two. I attend high school games here in the Columbus area all season long. I didn't go to school here, so I have no affiliation other than the school district my kids attend.

Its just fun to go to and games attract a lot of fans. Season ticket holders have often not missed a game or two in over 30 years. Its important to people here. Just as it is many parts of Texas.

From what i have seen, Football is a way of life in Ohio and Texas. Its not just a game that gets played on friday-monday, its a way of life, towns wrap them selves in it. I mean look at JJhuddle, that site always has new posts. In some states, football is HUGE for a few months a year, in Ohio (and i'm guessing Texas too) there isn't an off season.
