Ohio Bobcats (official thread)

OHIO BOBCATS (0-4)
Under Frank Solich, Ohio Bobcat football was the model of consistency. Longtime assistant Tim Albin has had a rough start to the season. On the bright side of things, the schedule was front loaded with losses to Power 5 foes Syracuse and Northwestern and a loss to a very solid Louisiana team. There are winnable games left on the schedule for Ohio, including the next two weeks against Akron and Bowling Green. Let's see if QB Kurtis Rourke can get hot. I just simply can't believe that this program is going to totally collapse.

Next up: Akron

Just sayin' I sure hope they lose to Akron this Saturday too, I picked Akron in BB73's Upset Contest.

SET THE OHIO BOBCATS REGULAR SEASON WIN TOTAL AT … 6

There are too many good players on this year’s team to have a second straight clunker, but can the lines be better? Can the defense show up? Can the offense start to take over games with the ground attack like it used to?

The Bobcats are going to be better.

They should be able to get by Buffalo, Bowling Green, and Fordham at home. Right there that matches last year’s win total, and then throw in a likely win at Akron, a lean-win home date with Florida Atlantic, and enough 50/50 games against teams like Kent State and Ball State and Miami University to get to at least six wins.

OU has done a good job keeping the lid shut tight on this for now. I live in the area, and gossip usually flows much more freely. I've heard only the most vague and obvious speculation (he had an inappropriate affair).

Divorce proceedings are happening for him, with the wife retaining Athens' most well known "go for the throat" lawyer. So we'll see.

So far, there's been no report involving butter knives.

I think the university acts when the affair would be with a student or employee. Otherwise, they wouldn’t care?
Right - none of their business, otherwise.

But so far, there's no certainty that the problem is an affair. I can definitely imagine other issues, but don't want to randomly speculate.

It's plainly something serious, though - something that caused them to get him off campus right away, while they investigated. Then they got their ducks in a row quickly, and fired him.
