Injury last season hasn't dampened Cole Stoudt's spirit

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
In Dublin Coffman's sophisticated offense, where there are as many options as a television cable-channel guide, the quarterback is supposed to be computer-like with five receivers running around here and there.
But Cole Stoudt has his own way of getting the Shamrocks into the end zone with regularity.
"I can do a pretty good Forrest Gump in the huddle," he said. "Sometimes I'll put on a British accent. Then I do Coach Hines of MTV. I've got one-liners, too. I'll give guys some head butts just to get them fired up. You have to play this game relaxed."
Such an attitude indicates that Stoudt doesn't feel the pressure of following in the footsteps of father Cliff, who played in the NFL, and standout Coffman quarterbacks Brady Quinn, Jack Rafferty, Josh Febus and brother Zack Stoudt.

By Phil Kornblut
QB Cole Stoudt (6-4 195) of Dublin, OH will make an official visit to Clemson this weekend. He and his family will drive down from Ohio tonight after his game. Stoudt is the son of former NFL and USFL quarterback Cliff Stoudt, and the brother of Louisville quarterback Zack Stoudt. Stoudt has committed to Wyoming but Clemson wants a close up look at him. He?s also drawn interest from Arizona State, South Florida, Colorado, Cincinnati, Akron, Toledo, Ohio and Miami of Ohio. Stoudt played in just six games last season due to a broken leg. He passed for 1200 yards and 16 touchdowns with just one interception.
Cowboys grab QB of the future in Cole Stoudt
by The Road
According to Steve Wiltford a recruiting analyst for 247 Sports the Wyoming Cowboys received a verbal commitment from Cole Stoudt a Pro Style Quarterback out of Dublin, OH. The commitment is actually mentioned at the bottom post detailing the upcoming visit of Cole's older brother Zack to Laramie on Monday the 18th.[/center]
The younger Stoudt is listed at 6'4 195lbs and ranked three stars by Rivals. Currently ranked as the #19 Pro Style QB in the nation. Cole has numerous offers including ones from AQ schools: Arizona State, Cincinnati, Colorado and South Florida.Stoudt's younger brother Cole verbally committed to Wyoming on Wednesday night.
There are no other reports of this commitment but Wiltford is in the recruiting business so he knows his stuff. This is a huge commit for Wyoming who needed to land a big time QB prospect to groom behind Austyn Carta-Samuels. Cole can redshirt next year which will be Carta-Samuel's Junior season, then after another year behind ACS he could take the helms as a redshirt Sophomore who knows the system and has had two years to develop.
More on both brothers and their football heritage after the jump.

Clemson football: Stoudt emerges as best No. 2 QB option
By TRAVIS SAWCHIK - The (Charleston) Post and Courier
CLEMSON ? With two practices remaining before Saturday?s spring game, the Clemson football team appears to have a leader in the backup quarterback race.
Dabo Swinney said Cole Stoudt has pulled ahead of fellow true freshman Tony McNeal in the competition for the No. 2 quarterback spot behind starter Tajh Boyd.
The Clemson coach likes Stoudt?s size ? 6-foot-4, 200 pounds and his ability to quickly grasp offensive concepts.
?I think Cole has separated himself a little bit,? Swinney said. ?He?s a better-than-average runner, but his physical size is his best attribute. ? He has an excellent demeanor; he is very coachable, very serious. He?s one of those guys that is over there all the time seeking knowledge.?
