2026 OH CB Elbert Hill (Verbal Offer)

According to Birm, Hill going to Oregon instead of The Game. Not good Bob
Remember though, he’s a ‘26 recruit, still plenty of time. And he hasn’t given off vibes that he’s trying to leave like Justin Hill and Trey McNutt. Take all the visits, and collect all the checks you can in the process. Then he knows where home is

Presumably Oregon is specifically targeting Ohio DBs to weaken their main conference competition. I’m also sure they’re dropping substantial bags for visits, well beyond paying the travel costs for unofficial visits, which is a violation by itself (if the NCAA were choosing to enforce rules), much less anything else on top of that.

Similar to Jeremiah Smith, and hopefully Offord, hopefully they’re just making some money by visiting a school and saying nice things when asked after and keeping an open mind, otherwise.

Mick Walker said he texted Elbert Hill Sr. and was told they will be at Ohio State this weekend. Idk what to believe lol.
OSU visit seems to make more sense, logistically. Hoban plays Friday evening in Akron. I just can't imagine the Hoban head coach being okay with a player flying to the other side of the country if they are preparing to play in a state championship game a few days later on Thursday. Of course, all bets are off if Hoban loses Friday night.

I think if a coach knows he has a national top 10 recruit, then the kid could be traveling the country on a weekly basis. Imo, either visit makes sense. He’s been to OSU countless times, and I’m sure he’ll go countless more. But he can go to Eugene and collect a check for watching a game. A 5 figure check…

Oh, I definitely cannot argue with that. And maybe Coach Tyrrell has mellowed out a bit.
