This is the next big time OH DB in 2025 to go along With Brew(I know he moved, but he’s still an OH kid with special powers) and McNutt. OH is producing some very big CBs, that are also blazing fast! Another track star like Brew. Expect and offer from Walton and OSU soon if big boys like UGA, Ped St and scUM
Columbus (Ohio) Marion-Franklin 2025 cornerback Dawayne Galloway is a long 6-foot-2, 175-pound prospect who has had a strong start to his junior year. Galloway has no Power Five offers yet, but they're likely coming. He combines his height and frame with a wind-aided 10.42-second 100-meter dash on file, in addition to a couple of wind-legal 10.5 reps and a 21.18 200. That speed can be seen on his early-season film as a punt returner and receiver. He starts off witha high three-star 88 rating but will challenge for Top247 status in time." -- Allen Trieu, 247Sports national recruiting analyst

Birm:
He received his first power five offer on Monday around 2:00 p.m. EST from Maryland. Georgia offered on Monday evening. Michigan and Penn State have already followed suit on Tuesday before noon.
Ohio State has not offered but the recent rash of interest from Big Ten rivals and the two-time defending national champions will likely force the Buckeyes to take an extended look over the next few days.

What is the word on this kid? Any interest in the Bucks?

There is interest, but OSU is playing catch up since he camped at other schools this summer. But the offers from some of the big boys may force Walton's hand. But OSU is in the early lead for several elite CBs(Brew, Sanchez, Zackery, McNutt(who could play S), Woodby and they just offered Cam Miller from NJ. Walton is definitely enamored with the bigger CBs, and Galloway fits that mold, and also has the speed, just need to build the relationship

I think he should be. Taller DB's make it harder to throw over, and are sturdier against run centric teams in the Big 10.

But you also have to make sure the kid is a pure cover CB, hitter/run stopper, or both. Not many are willing to be both. And from what I've been told, M-F isn't one of the best schools in the best of neighborhoods, with the best of resources. So grades will need to be assessed, along with if he can stay at CB or if a move to S is in his future.

Oh, as OSU fans of recent defense past we know all too well what a kid who can't do a modicum of both looks like. Lol

I really like the steady turn around that Walton has brought to that room.

“My mindset was to work,” Galloway told cleveland.com. “Just keep working. I knew they were going to come sooner or later. But I just kept working.”

What’s behind this incredible spike? A midseason highlight reel that coaches can’t ignore.

“My size and speed, and my talent, for real,” Galloway said. “When they look at me, they see a very athletic kid. I am very fast, 10.4 100-meter dash. I think they like that. 175, kind of big too. I think they like that and they want to have that kid on their campus.”

Galloway indeed touts scintillating speed. As a sophomore, he earned second place in the Ohio Division II state finals for the 100-meters (wind-aided 10.42) and 200-meters (21.18). He won the silver medal with a 21.32 in the latter.

He's also the cousin of Tayvion Galloway, and they both work out with the trainer who lashed out at OSU for not offering Tayvion. So hopefully this recruiting journey goes a little smooth

Article on Dawayne Galloway from cleveland.com:

Says Ohio State has reached out to him twice this week, didn’t grow up rooting for the Buckeyes but an offer from them would mean a lot being the hometown school. All 16 of his offers are at cornerback and so far this season he’s racked up 12 pass breakups and 3 interceptions.

Interesting to note, his cousin is Tayvion Galloway who had the infamous trainer taking shots at Ohio State last year when we didn’t recruit Tayvion. Dawayne is connected to the same guy, hopefully the trainer has learned to keep his mouth shut.

I had forgot about this (purposefully), but we had a 7 on 7 at MF and we heard shots fired during the game, and then all the players had to get on the bus and leave halfway through. Only time in the area, but that was pretty rough coming from some cowtown in Ohio where a petit theft at a grocery was a major story.

Anyways, I watched the film for Mr. Galloway on HUDL. He has great length and range in coverage, seems very athletic, and has a knack for tracking the ball. What I can't tell is his willingness to provide run support and physicality, nor coverage against good competition. Not really a negative, but he will need to hit the camps and events after the season, and if he could transfer to a school with better competition I think it would benefit him. But he has enough talent and tools where I would expect OSU to have him work out in front of the staff to determine if he gets an offer...I know he has major offers, but we need to make our own independent evaluation. After Mathews, CSH, Scott, West and Lockhart, we can be picky at this position.

But one question I have...any relation to Joey Galloway?
