2027 OH ATH Brayton Feister

Checking out the in-state 2027 kids. Really hope this dude, Brayton Feister, is one of the first to commit and set the tone. And if he decides to be a Buckeye, I hope he gets plenty of opportunities to line up as tailbacks. His video is fun to watch!!
I doubt he even gets an offer. Especially at RB
Most think he's maxed out, and others don't think he has a true position. Solid HS RB, but he's not trucking anyone in college like he does in HS. Best of luck to him though

Appreciate the insight. I'm out here in California, and all I have to go on are the video clips. I love this kid's throwback style. What about defense, you don't think he has the goods to be a Buckeye on that side? On offense, I keep seeing a player that is similar to the recent PSU tight end/H-back dude, Tyler Warren.

I felt the same exact way when I first saw him, and thought he was just a physical specimen! And then I started asking questions about him to the more expert recruiting guys(ie. Birm, AG, BK, Gerdeman, Noon, etc), and to a man they all said that the first issue is that he wants to play RB in college. And he doesn't fit the style of RB that Lock wants(Lock prefers guys who are lighter on their feet and have the ability to be big assets in the passing game, Feister is a throw back power RB who needs the ball 20+ times to wear down an offense), OSU sees him more of a Edge player like a Logan George or Justin Hill. And also the other worry is if he's maxed out his physical attributes and is relying on being the biggest kid on the field, and if he will no longer grow, while the rest of the kids surpass him in size when they get in a college weight training system.

His brother may have a better chance at getting an OSU offer, but the staff is still early in their evaluation of him, because he mainly plays defense. They're just not sure if he stays at LB or grows into a DE.

I've seen him play a number of times... I get it.. and he'll be a brutal RB again this year.. I see him and think John Brockington.. which doesn't exist a lot anymore.. Wisconsin is all over the entire Hoban team

I hope we get to see a lot more of him at LB because I can see him as Jack Sawyer on the edge

This will be a very interesting year for him

Hopefully the kid reads all this free wisdom....and asks/tells his HS coach that he wants to expand his repertoire to include defense. If he excels at LB, and is big enough, schools will take him to play that or DE. Hey, Brayton, an RB in the NFL has a shelf life of five years....while that of an LB or DE is 8+..... You can do the math....and best of luck whatever route you choose.

He does play LB, but his preference is RB and that's where most of his publicity comes from. Eli Lee has been the main focus at LB. He is a physical freak, and has numerous offers but the big boys like OSU, UGA, Bama, Texas haven't offered due to seeing if he's stopped growing. And its a very honest take, as he currently looks like a grown man with a family and a mortgage already and he may not grow into a DE. So then you're left with a kid who wants to play RB, but should play LB. And all teams are recruiting for both sides of the ball, but the best teams want kids they can mold and have more of an upside, and it looks like Feister is almost at his ceiling as a finished product.

thats the problem with working out at that young age. The bones need to grow first while keeping muscles strong. If muscles outgrow the bone, you stunt vertical growth and length. He's fortunate he got to 6'3" and really he could be a prototypical LB in the the 3's mold if he put all of his effort into that, You see a lot of kids in Ohio max out in HS though and if it gets him a free college degree and he plays RB somewhere while doing it, hey, that's a lifetime of dreaming right there already.
