Official Countdown Thread

LB Jim Laughlin class of '79: Laughlin's Block Party-The 1979 Bucks were undefeated and ranked #2. An undefeated regular season and NC game against USC were on the line in The Game. They trailed 15-12 in Ann Arbor with just over 4 minutes to go. scUM was forced to punt from deep in their own territory when Jim Laughlin broke through and blocked the punt. The late Todd Bell picked it up and scored the game winning TD. Take Gonzo's catch in 2005 and multiply by 50 to get an idea of the enormity of that.

RB Mike Wiley class of '99-seen here scoring on a 53 yard run during The Game 1998. OSU won 31-16

Here scoring a TD with 23 seconds left in the first half vs PSU in 1998. This made it 14-3 and really broke the game open. The Bucks went on to win 28-9.

-we can say players of this era wore whatever number we like, only BB73 knows for sure
-I can't find a decent picture of Josh Jackson (#4)
-I'm not posting a picture of freakin Herbstriet

One of my personal faves. Will Allen played a big part of our NC run, and an even bigger part in making the 2003 season respectable.

You consider the 2003 season only "respectable"? We were a game away from defending our title.

Without Allen's INT return against SDSU and game saving 3OT tackle against NC St., not to mention stellar play all seson, the 2003 season would have been a big disappointment. I don't see how describing a season as "respectable" is negative.

I remember everything he did and how close a lot of the games were in '03. It just sounded like you meant it was barely worth calling respectable. Interwebs make tone hard to pick up sometimes.
