Off season thread. Post the view of where you are right now.

We stayed in Edinburgh a couple years ago after attending a wedding in Scotland. Great town.
I really enjoyed Edinburgh. Hiked up to Arthur’s table yesterday ahead of the Johnnie Walker experience.

We got to Glasgow today and are here through tomorrow. Not overly impressed so far.

We were in Puglia a couple years ago for a wedding. It was summer and a bit warm but awesome. Went to Milan afterwards. Great time. Then we got stranded via the "Crowd Strike" software debacle. Had to spend an additional three nights. My wife made sure it cost me ....
If by “cost you”, it means she’s snootier than you about lodging, I know what that’s like …

No doubt. The first night was at some ok hotel while we struggled to get our new return flight booked. Once we knew we were going to in Milan a couple more nights we move to The Portrait hotel. I wanna go back. Excellent property ....

It was the return to the Prada store that really hurt.

I poked my head into one of those once. The blonde 22 year old saleswoman looked me up and down for a microsecond and dismissed me as a potential buyer, correctly of course, instantly.

5th times the charm. As soon as they fuck up a casting in this show, I’ll stop coming. Until then, I’ll be coming to this show every time I’m in NYC

I went to a Broadway show of Peter Pan when I was like 8 years old. I wasn't really able to appreciate all that was going on, but I remember it was pretty cool. Then, last year the Mrs. and I went to NYC for Christmas and saw Elf on Broadway. Man, was that fucking impressive. The show was great, but I was truly amazed at the tech and their ability to scene change and all that. Fucking pros, man.

If you get a chance, go see the Rockettes. I would have never have thought I would have enjoyed that like I did. Another truly amazing production... and Radio City is iconic, of course.

I saw you posted in this thread and thought maybe it was wifey's brownie.

All the time I spent in NYC I never went to a Broadway play but in London my wife dragged to to the west end or Regent's Park every Saturaday night

Our utter escape from reality (we’re on a repositioning cruise from Rome to Fort Lauderdale) has run into a bit of the real world as the ship has turned around for a bit in a response to an order to aid a drifting powerless boat with fifteen African migrants on it. We’re about 200 km West and a bit North of Algiers at the moment, the sea is very calm and apparently our orders are not to actually intervene but instead to just stay a couple of hundred yards away from them until the appropriate authorities can get here to actually rescue them. I assume we’d be doing more if they were in immediate danger.

Update: They’ve been rescued by a cutter that came in from Cartagena and we’re getting back up to speed for tomorrow’s port day in Malaga.
