Off Road Vehicle Question (ATV, UTV, Buggy)

Rule number one, I'm number one.

Behind my house is a very large and popular off-roading site (woods, trails, creeks, hills, etc). I've never been into the off-road scene nor have I driven an ATV for more than 10 minutes at a time.

Recently I've decided that I want a toy and I want to take advantage of these woods and have a little fun.

My first thought was a Quad. The problem is that, one I don't particularly know how to drive it other than in an open field. The second problem is they are only for one person on the trails. The third dilemma with a Quad is whether to buy a Sport or Utility quad. I would rather have the sport quad because they're lighter and more maneuverable; but lower clearance.

Then while I was researching Quad's I ran into a few other options.

BMS 400CC Sand Sniper

This buggy looks like it would be okay, but is a 2 wheel drive (not unlike sport quad). I am not familiar with BMS and the dealers for this product; of which there is several; all seem to carry the exact same lineup of vehicles. This is under $5k, but I have no clue how this would do in a trail/woods setting rather than relatively flat surface.

I saw this Polaris RZR 570 and several like. This appears to be my best option for simple joy-ride with a passenger, but is also the most expensive of the lot. The RZR 570 starts at $10k, but used are around $8-9k.

Anybody have any experience with the buggy's/UTV? Any advice I should have before making a purchase? I am a beginner rider and have no intentions on anything other than just driving around in the woods.
