Joanna Garcia and Nick Swisher will wed Saturday in Palm Beach amongst about 375 guests.

It's shaping up to be a picture perfect weekend for Joanna Garcia and her soon-to-be husband, Nick Swisher.

The "Better with You" actress and her New York Yankees fianc? will tie the knot on Saturday at the Breakers Resort in Palm Beach, Fla., according to UsMagazine.com.

An estimated 375 guests will reportedly look on as Garcia, 31, walks down the aisle in a Monique Lhullier gown. Among the celebrities expected to attend the nuptials, Reba McEntire, Jamie Lynn Sigler, and Lance Bass will serve as part of the bridal party, Us reports.

Over the summer, Garcia dished about the 30-year-old slugger, whom she has been engaged to since May.

"This relationship has been the easiest thing I've ever done," she told the mag. "I'm impressed and awed by him every single day when I wake up."

Swisher recently echoed the actress' sentiments, telling People.com that his bride-to-be has done a "tremendous" job planning their big day.

"I think for the first time in my life, I have a woman who I could not be more proud of," he said. "We do such a great job really pushing the other one to do better and I think that's what you have to have."

He added, "My old man told me a long time ago you need to marry your best friend, and I think that's exactly what I'm doing."

"Swish" Wishes Team Good Luck

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Buckeyes had a visitor at practice Thursday. Nick Swisher, the former Buckeye freshman All-American and three-year standout and now a Major League Baseball All-Star with the New York Yankees, spent a couple hours watching the Buckeyes practice at the spring training home of the Yankees.
Driving a well-customized, evil-looking black Camaro - the "bat mobile," perhaps, considering Swisher has 162 career home runs and 495 RBI as a big-leaguer - and looking incredibly fit and strong, Swisher stayed for the entire Buckeye practice. He stayed on the field with the team and watched batting practice from behind the batting cages on practice field No.2 with a handful of others.

Yankees' Swisher appears in wife's ABC sitcom
By Steve Coogan, USA TODAY

New York Yankee outfielder Nick Swisher and actress JoAnna Garcia, newlyweds who got married in December, found a way to spend time together before the long, grinding baseball season takes him all over country.

She brought him to the office and her bosses put him to work.

Last night, Swisher's two-episode run playing himself on Garcia's first-year ABC

Actress JoAnna Garcia, left, and New York Yankee outfielder Nick Swisher, seen at an event in New York in Nov. 2010, recently appeared together on Garcia's ABC sitcom 'Better With You.'

sitcom Better With You, wrapped up.

Swisher told TVLine.com he wanted to be there for his spouse.

"(JoAnna) supports me when I work, and I want to make sure I'm here for her, he says. "I wish I could take her to work (at Yankee Stadium) for a couple days to see what I do, but ..."

Garcia's response: "I'm not tough enough for that!"

The two may be married off screen, but the storyline written for Swisher took him away from her and more toward the male cast members Josh Cooke, Jake Lacy (Garcia's love interest on the show) and veteran-actor Kurt Fuller.

Yankees outfielder Nick Swisher is coming off a strong 2010 season. He hit .288 with 29 home runs and made his first All-Star Game appearance.

TAMPA, Fla. ? He?s coming off the best season of his major-league career and just married a Hollywood starlet named Joanna Garcia. Last week, he even appeared on her show, ?Better With You.? Indeed, it?s good to be Nick Swisher:

1. You obviously enjoy the acting. But what?s the toughest part about it?

I know where my bread and butter is, being a baseball player. You get opportunities like that and it completely takes you out of your comfort zone. I don?t mind going out and playing in front of 55,000 people with a couple million watching on TV. I?m cool with that. But when you put me out there and you?ve got six cameras like 10 feet from you, man, I get a little choked up sometimes.

2. Using some of that new perspective, what?s similar or dissimilar about your job and acting? You are both performers in that sense, right?

Jo and I always talk about being in such competitive businesses that you?ve got to find your magic, you?ve got to find what works for you, when to flip that switch, when to turn it on, because we?re both ... shoot there?s always people right on your heels trying to take your job and stuff like that.

3. How much of that shared performance aspect is behind the bond you and Joanna share?

I think a good amount of it, no doubt. She is my best friend. ... As my father always says, success is nothing unless you have someone to share it with. I found my partner and I could not be more happy, man.

4. How is your dad? (Former big-leaguer Steve Swisher)

He?s great, doing good, just kicking back in West Virginia, just hanging out and doing camps with kids and stuff like that. He loves it. He?s got a little hitting school called ?School of Dreams? because he wants these kids to know that dreams and stuff do come true.

The Charlie Sheen-Nick Swisher connection
March, 3, 2011
By Andrew Marchand

"Unemployed winner" Charlie Sheen has been a Twitter sensation as he keeps "winning," He joined Twitter this week and his account is already at 1.3 million followers. A pretty good number, to say the least. It has been called a Twitter record.

Sheen is only following 25 people, as of Thursday at lunch-time.

Of the 25, one is none other than Nick Swisher. Sheen is also following Derek Jeter's significant other, Minka Kelly.

Swisher always pushing to improve his game
By Evan Drellich / MLB.com | 03/15/11

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- In his third season with the Yankees, Nick Swisher's just kind of there.

He still has the charisma in the clubhouse, the carbonated personality and well over a million Twitter followers. But entering his third season with the club, he's become a known quantity to New York. Certainly more than his introductory year in pinstripes, and more than 2010, too, the Yankees just don't have to think of him much.

If Swisher stays healthy this season, he should surpass the last two regular Yankees right fielders -- Gary Sheffield and Bobby Abreu -- for games played with the club. He's a mainstay. Not in the way Derek Jeter or Mariano Rivera are, but in a second tier.

"He's not a huge concern of mine," manager Joe Girardi said. "Every year you want players to get better, but he had a pretty good last year. And you look for guys to be able to duplicate and maybe do a little more."

Swisher doesn't make any promises of better numbers, but he's quick to say that he's looking to improve, not just duplicate last season.

Swisher's production last year was great: 29 home runs, 89 RBIs, a .288 average and a .359 on-base percentage. He's 30 now, so it wouldn't be reasonable to expect too great a spike in his production when you consider he reached his career high in homers five years ago (35) and his career high in average just last season (by 26 points).

The spring numbers haven't been great, but Swisher's not worried about that. He's down to .188 (6-for-32) after an 0-for-3 performance against the Red Sox on Monday, and he's yet to homer. The veteran said he's seen more offspeed pitches this spring than in the past.

"For me, man, I'm just getting in a groove," Swisher said. "In a perfect world, the numbers would be better, but this is what Spring Training's for. I feel great."
