I'm fine with 15th, thats the number that was in my head last night.

You just can't lay claim to elite status with one complete 1/3 of your team being a major liability no matter how good the other 2/3 are.

Good news is we should win 5 in a row and will probably be top 10 again going into scUM.

Key word "should"

With our offense apparently being more of a liability then we figured going into the season, we are dependant on our defense to hold teams to 14 points max (by looking at our performances this year)

Looking at each remaining game independantly and how we have played so far, each should be a win till scUM.

Looking at the overall picture, another loss is a possibility, but hopefully not the case

Am I the only one somewhat surprised as to how much love we are getting from the pollsters this year. We were the highest ranked 1 loss team. Now we're the highest ranked 2 loss team and we're ranked higher than 8, 1-loss teams.

I know our losses were to 2 undefeated teams. We are ranked where I think we probably should be but it just surprises me that the pollsters haven't taken the opportunity to drop us like flies considering their attitude toward us the last 3 to 4 years. Our offense hasn't looked any better this year than the 02 or 03 teams.

Maybe I'm off base but it just made me wonder.

I'm not too surprised. Look at Tennessee because they are in the same boat

They lost to 2 top 15 teams and are now ranked 18. Granted Fla has one loss, but I see the parallels between us and Tennessee right now. I think that would be a great postseason matchup by the way.

Who would have thought at the beginning of the season that by week 6 the ranked Big Ten teams would include Minny, MSU and PSU and that scUM, Iowa and Purdon't would be unranked? Teams in this conference are just pounding on each other. At least it's interesting.

Edit: I wouldn't count any wins from here on out as givens (well, a couple of them are givens). NW showed this past weekend that any school in the B10 not starting with the letter "I" and ending in "ndiana" or "llinois" can beat anyone else. I'll remain concerned about MSU, NW, Minny and even scUM at this point.

Yes, I think it's because voters know the amount of talent on this team due to media coverage.

This shows just how good of a team everyone sees that we really have. We lost to two very good teams. Being 3-2 and still ranked #15 above several one-loss teams is a statement. The team needs to come together now and start beating the snot out of lesser teams like we did Iowa. That game is an indicator of how damn dominant we can be.
