Much deserved promotion. With this move, I think Hartline is here long term and obviously we all want that. Only concern is any shortcomings with the WR unit given the added responsibility (probably being a tad obvious on that one), but it was a move that simply had to be made. Hartline is one of the best coaches we've had and having grown up in Ohio and playing at OSU, he just gets it. Love seeing this happen.

I wouldn't worry about that too much. Most coordinators have a special position group that they have as well so when they split into individual practice time he'll be with WRs then likely directing the Offense as team drills happen.

Word out of Miami is they offered Hartline the OC job prior to his promotion at OSU.

Not sure if that influenced anything on our end, but Canes fans are pretty bummed they didn’t land him upon this news getting out.

Caveat on the news…..apparently it’s from something Jeremiah Smith said (next years #1 WR). I don’t know full context but I certainly wouldn’t be surprised, with Hartlines recruiting ability and connection to Miami, if this were true.

Miami fans have had a hard on for Hartline since he got the job. They also on the low wanted Zach Smith due to his SoFL connections too. Both consistently raided SoFL talent and left them with scraps. They were pissed at the signing of Inniss, and they're livid at Smith committing, and the only chance they have is Ruiz' NIL incentives.

They still do. Lots are raising him as their OC cause you know OC at his alma mater and much more successful program isn't better than their job or something
