I was thinking the same thing when I saw the new signing day pics on BN. Welcome Brian to the Buckeye family officially... and you girlfriend as well :).

Brian Hartline had a good performance at his final track meet at home. It was senior night and the opponent not formidable, so the coach let the players compete in competitions that aren't their specialty.

Brian chose shotput. Everyone was cackling when they saw the scrawny kid prepare to throw, yet shut up quickly when he threw it 43', good enough for third place.

He went on to win the 110m hurdles in 14.2 seconds. His 4x100 relay team was timed at 42.9

Brian Hartline of Canton GlenOak shined in the hurdles, as expected

Hartline had the best time in the 300 hurdles in D-I, 36.87. He was second in the 110 m hurdles, 14.13

Hartline has already proven he has come back from his season-ending ankle injury suffered in football

I believe that his 300 hurdle time puts him at around 8th best in the entire country!

Hartline was first in the 110 hurdles today with a time of 14.09, and was fist in the 300 hurdles with a time of 36.69. Just to clarify, these were both finals. Congrats to Brian, looks like he has completely healed and will be ready to go in the S&G next year!

Very impressive, Brian!!! That truly is a great comeback, and it could only happen because of one reason...his tremendous work ethic. I think he is going to do big things in his time as a Buckeye.

Does anyone know if they may think about putting him at CB because of his hurdle success. You know what they say about having to have great hips for the corner spot and how hurdlers have great hips. It was just an idea of mine, although I think he is much better suited for as a wideout. He's got all the potential to be a great one.

More than a few future Ohio State Buckeyes were in action at the state track meet over the two day event and there also a couple of others participating that fans who follow OSU recruiting are aware of. To no one's surprise, Glenville won the team event in a big way and Brain Hartline came through in a similar fashion in his two meets.

Brian Hartline of GlenOak got the day off to an auspicious start for Ohio State fans with a strong performance in the 110 Hurdles.

With a time of 14.09 seconds, Hartline made it to the top of podium at the awards presentation for the first of his two events.
​

​

Hartline was up again in the 300 Hurdles and he, of course, didn't disappoint getting to the finish line first with a time of 36.69 seconds.
​

But Darryl Elston of Toledo Rogers made it a bit close for comfort as he turned in a second-place time of 36.77 seconds and was pretty even with Hartline coming off the last hurdle.
​

Nevertheless Hartline, fully recovered from his broken leg suffered in football season, promised two golds on the day and he delivered.
​

Brian placed 5th in the 400 meter hurdles at Nike Outdoor Nationals this past weekend. He ran a 53.3, in probably the first time he has ever raced this distance.
