We're not talking about the "what if" and the "had this happened" I'm talking about just looking at the score by quarters and the score was 31-10 9 minutes into the 3rd and you didn't score until almost the 4th quarter to make it 31-17. So honestly the game wasn't close after the 2nd quarter and the 21 unanswered points put up by LSU. I'm not debating whether or not had different scenarios happened the game would have been closer because that can be said for any game. The fact is that the game wasn't as close as you think. Not a slight on you guys, just the was the cookie crumbled this year..
I think the point he was trying to make was, Ohio State outdid LSU in everything except for Time of possesion and score. Turnovers killed OSU and LSU was able to capitalize on those turnovers. Couple that with 5 uncharacteristic personal foul penalites and you have a 2 TD score lead. Yes turnovers are a huge part of football and can sway a game, but you remove those and the turnovers, chances are we would have been up by two TD's.
That being said, LSU was the better team that day (mainly due to discipline) and deserved the win. But it wasn't the blowout people say it was.
