Observations from the Barcalounger - Michigan State 2004

Well lets put zwick in and lose because thats whats gonna happen. zWICK WOULD HAVE BEEN SACKED 5-6 TIMES TODAY AND INTERCEPTED AND FUMBLED AT LEAST ONCE.

Ding,Ding, Ding we have a starting QB thats 3-0. Fuck offensive coordinator I want headcoach:roll2:

I honestly don't know what to say. Is this sarcasm? Satire? I literally don't have a clue how to read it.

That's an intentionally off balance comparison, but for the sake of pointing out how what's behind the numbers mean more when comparing QBs than the numbers themselves. It's more about looking at the individual plays, where the balls went and why. 0 is misleading in Troy's favor. While 5 probably is more or representative of Zwick's play, give or take a bal

Well, its been a while so i may have to review some tapes, but I remember a lot of defenders dropping Zwick's. Not sure how many, but I would guess about 4 or 5 where the defender should have picked it.

Anyway, I thought Smith did an alright job in there today. Wasn't asked to do much really. Came through in the clutch. I think the biggest problem with our offense is we are trying to nickle and dime it down the field, which is very difficult to do on a regular basis. I would love to see some more midrange passes instead of just deep and short.

The defense did a better job today then I expected. Tackling needs to be improved still, and 3rd downs are still killing us but I think they are making progress. Sometimes however, the d-line just looks lost.

I was wondering why everybody was jumping on me Dihard. I guess I need to be more sarcastic when I'm being sarcastic. You guys are cool. The boards eye rolling Icon isn't really that good.

We are playing better though. I hope we win out.

hell yeah the bucks are playing better.....i said in another post that there are now nine players contributing on offense that were not used until the indiana game.....the future is bright my friend....ten if you count smith.....thats ten new faces on offense....

or i could say...only holmes, sims, mangold, datish and kne still play from the early offense....

Did anyone see Lydell have a hole and actually gain 6-7 yards up the middle? That alone should be a sign of the improvement on the OL. I still don't want him anywhere above 3rd on the depth chart tho.

Give Smith some more reps in practice on deep throws, on scrambling to create throws (he did that a few times, but not enough, and usually only to throw to Ginn), and for running unusual plays (option, bootleg, etc.) and we could smoke PU next week and come back home with a serious head of steam for UM.

Any info about Pittman? I heard the quad injury comment, but is it a serious one or just a day to day one?

Without him, we look a little less potent against the likes of UM.

Dihard/Brutus2002/Clarity/Experts,

Do you still think Peterson is taking a bigger role with the offensive line??
If so I cannot wait until it's made "official" that Peterson is in charge.
Then when the younger kids like Rehring, Mitchum, Bemoll, Cordle, Boone and Taz mature; WHEW the pains of watching this line will seem like a distant nightmare. Those kids have so much potential. Although this present line is doing a little better.

Also do you think Pittman and Haw are the answer to our RB "challenges" ??
I sure hope Pittman can hold up to the punishment of the Big Ten, and I hope Haw can keep his off-field affairs in order and get on the field. He is so fast and so strong of a runner. I do like Dionte Johnsons.

I pray everynight to the Buckeye gods for a good big RB to commit in '05.
