Zurp

I have misplaced my pants.
Cross-inspired by the commercials of the people spelling out "O-H-I-O" and also by a buddy who goes around taking pictures of a Yoda figure all around the world at famous monuments and attractions, I've decided to do a similar thing with these.

Though, I don't get to see cool things like Mount Rushmore or Big Ben. So these will be in front of things like 7-Eleven or Super-8.

This was taken in my truck, just as a practice. I'll post more when I get them. But feel free to post your own here, too.

Edit- Crap. I don't know how to attach images. I'll try again in a minute.

Zurp, here's an idea. Make your Star Wars crew a traveling pack. Send em to friends that live near somewhere interesting and have them take a pic for you. They can either send the SW crew back, or send it on to a friend of theirs that has somewhere interesting to take a pic of. The picture should be sent back to you.

If you include a "log book", say a spiral notebook, that has your contact info, each person that takes a pic can also make a comment in the log book.

This works really pretty well as long as the chain of people is always good friends of yours or are vouched for by someone you trust. Or you don't mind occasionally replacing the figurine crew!

OCBF and I have friends that do something like this with a mobile terabyte of storage. It's a terabyte of movies, music, pictures, etc that travels around the war zones in the Mid east, from soldier to soldier, for them to take from, and add to, the data. A log book is included so each soldier can comment. It's called the Traveling Terabyte Project.

I read a story awhile back, too, about an elementary school that sent a care package to some troops and included a little stuffed bear in fatigues. The soldiers responded by taking pics of the new "recruit" doing all the things a soldier does on a day in a war zone and creating a picture blog the kids back home could read.

I haven't been anywhere great. I haven't even been many boring places, either. Just the way work is going lately. But here's some new pictures.

(By the way, these jerks are hard to keep standing in the wind.)

Double sided tape...sticky velcro.....rolled up duct tape....that tacky blue stuff that looks like used bubble gum when you roll it up to stick up posters...the ideas are many in the quest to avoid wind-driven fall over.

Interesting perspective play with the Wal-Mart in the background!

I was doing work at the Ford Truck Plant in Louisville, and thought it would be a good picture in front of the Ford sign. But there wasn't anywhere good to stop long enough to set the troops up without some jerk asking about what I'm doing. So I just went down the street to Walmart. That's the same as Ford Trucks, right?

Can't a guy pose his posse of action figures on a crowded, public thoroughfare
without getting harassed these days!? The nerve of some people.

For those of you who didn't think it was possible for the words "pose," "posse," and "thoroughfare" to all be in the same sentence, let me introduce you to she who made it all possible.

And a lot of places don't take too kindly to bringing cameras on site. They think I'm going to sell pictures to their competitors, or something. So I could imagine their version of mall security might give me the evil eye if I whip out a camera shortly after leaving the site.
