I read Simmons from May through early-October. He's dead to me once NCAA & NBA basketball seasons start or after the Sox advance past the ALDS.

Once he gets into his mode where every column is a 25,000 word essay on what his dad thought of the 1983 NBA draft, I look elsewhere.

I'm the opposite. I think he writes the NBA better than anyone else out there these days (which isn't saying much)... seems like he's running out of material or losing edge or both in the spring/summer. And I HATE reading about the damn Pats.
