Most of the time, it's perfectly acceptable and maybe even a little bit fun to hate Notre Dame.
The Fighting Irish have never offended me personally, but if you want to despise Notre Dame for its corporate haughtiness, its snobbery, its mistreatment of Tyrone Willingham or the arrogance of the football coach who replaced him, go for it.

The Fighting Irish should be happy that Mike Brey is still running the show. (AP)

But do me a favor, huh? Limit your loathing of Notre Dame to six days a week.
Because on the seventh day, God created Notre Dame basketball.

Mike Bray is a very good basketball coach and runs, as far as I know, a very clean program. One of his former assistants who is at Florida now,:( , used to coach here and is one of the finer individuals I've ever met.

Notre Dame is now 1-4 in true away games this year, 2-4 if you count the neutral court Washington DC game against Maryland. Talk about not travelling well...South Florida, who lost to Richmond by 10 earlier this year, now improves to 12-11.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -South Florida coach Robert McCullum hesitated a moment, then tried to describe a dominating performance by McHugh Mattis .

''My vocabulary won't allow me to expound,'' McCullum said after the slender 6-foot-6 forward, who hardly has the physique to dominate Big East opponents inside, scored 23 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to pace a 69-63 victory over No. 21 Notre Dame on Saturday night.

There it is

Sorry Penn State. Back to hockey and wrestling only in the winter.

PSU only had a $4M buyout for him. Oopsie poopsie.

Really all B1G teams should have a hefty buyout on new hires that essentially guarantees other schools won't pry them away. What is all that TV money good for if you can't at least leverage it to make sure you keep good young coaches? No way B1G teams should see successful coaches leaving after 2 years.
