Notre Dame -3.5 at TSUN (ov/un 55.5) Sat 8 ET, ESPN

It's taken UM fans exactly one week and the beating of a MAC team to start with their typical beginning of the year arrogance. It'd be nice to see UM drop a few games and have all those sportswriters (not to mention clown UM fans) who have been gushing over Hoke's hiring be proven wrong.

Patience, grasshopper. Let the scUMmers delude themselves a little longer and the eventual meltdown will be even greater. :sneaky:

Personally, I find kicking the shit out of TSUN at the end of the year even more gratifying when they think they're good and come in puffing their chests out. Hell, last year I almost found myself getting bored in the second half. It was like beating up an 8 year old. I want to beat up the guy who thinks he's the bully on the block.

Besides, we don't get to personally kick ND's ass. Beating Michigan's ass after they knock off ND is like beating both of them at the same time. I can't root for either team, but I'd prefer the scUMmers have 1 more point than their opponent on this particular day.

Besides, as you say, ND will lose plenty of other games this season--Stanford will straight destroy them, USC and MSU should beat them, and they'll lose at least a few of what I believe to be toss-up games (at Purdue, Maryland, Boston College, Air Force).

Same here.

The off-season was pretty brutal as well. Fresh on the job while recruiting, UM/Hoke/Mattison really took advantage of Ohio State's image problems with the media when ESPN was doing a pretty damn good job of making it look like the sky was going to come crashing down on Ohio State.

Well, [censored] them. I was hoping they were going to be 0-11 the week before "The Game", but I'll settle for 1-10 now.

Judge Chamberlain Haller: Mr. Gambini?
Vinny Gambini: Yes, sir?
Judge Chamberlain Haller: That is a lucid, intelligent, well thought-out objection.
Vinny Gambini: Thank you, sir.
Judge Chamberlain Haller: Overruled.

How about a 0-0 tie? And not one where both defenses are THAT good - I mean that neither team can hold onto the ball; neither team can go more than 2 plays without a penalty; neither team can remember which shoe goes on which foot.

And you ask how it turns into a tie? I'm pretty sure that if both teams agreed to stop the game because this one has taken all week and they each have to get to another game, they'll decide it's a tie.

I used to like it when they came into The Game whatever and 0... But I do like what we've watched recently. Give them a couple games of false hope and then 7 losses to close the season. Each week a little bit of hope remains that they will get to go to the Lil C pizza bowl down the road at Ford Field only to have any and all hopes taken away by the end of the first quarter of The Game.

Tsun going down early and often is also fine by me.

Fuck em.

That is all.

Syrians & Iranians

The domers may be the only clowns that are more arrogant than the scUM, so I generally hope for a serious beat-down on them every week. For me, taking sides in a battle between between the two of them would be a bit like taking sides in a war between the Syrians and the Iranians...I just want them to both kill each other.

But since JHoke has been recruiting in our turf, I think that I am hoping that the domers come out slightly on top in a turnover filled, furball of on-field confusion and [Mark May]ty play that makes everyone retch with disgust.

If all of the recruits switch channels to Simpsons re-runs or go back on Facebook, OSU wins

Same. Extra disdain for Michigan this year.
