Notre Ame +3.5 at Sparty (ov/un 51.5) 8 ET ABC/ESPN2

The fake was well covered when you look at the replay, Notre Dame clearly knew to look for it. Two defenders fall down when entangled with the Spartans 2nd receiving option that allowed #83 to break free.

I like it when good execution pays off like that.

Lou looks despondent while explaining how ND had the fake FG play covered...but the receiver was wide open, anyway.
I've gotta agree with Lou that it did look covered until the two ND defenders got their legs tangled up and fell down. It might have still been completed, but it would've at least been contested.

Could also clearly see on the screen the playclock at :00 before the ball was snapped. You can see the scoreboard too when they're lined up before the play.

If you fall down, is it still well covered? Sure, they didn't just let the guy run free, but they were on the side of the ball that almost never goes for the block. They should have jammed and been able to keep coverage. Instead they looked like the 3 stooges (2 in this case) and gave up a TD. That is not well played.
