Northwestern tickets on sale

Eurocat

Freshman
Just thought I'd post a heads up that single-game tickets to the Northwestern game are on sale as of today (Monday July 24) at 847-491-CATS. Since demand should be pretty high you might want to get on the phone today. You can order online at www.nusports.com (click on "tickets"). Last time you guys were in Evanston I think the game sold out.

Good luck this year. I hope both of our teams will be undefeated when we meet.

Go Buckeyes. Go Big Ten and

GO CATS!

Oops

Oops, sorry. I had thought the tickets board was for OSU games AT OSU only (in otherwords scalping stuff and people trying to get blocks of tix and the like).

Sorry! I didn't know!

Mods, feel free to delete with my apologies.

Thanks, the way the ticket board is described

"Buckeye Ticket Forum Post the tickets you have and the tickets you need here."

made it seem to me like was meant for OSU home games and people who wanted to exchanged tickets at the home events. No matter.

Thanks again and good luck in 2006! Beat Texas!

Go Big Ten!

Where are you sitting Eurocat? We could make a thread that is a rollcall for where everyone is going to be at each game. I have done this on other sites and its always cool to see who is going and where they are sitting.

Sorry

I will probably be sitting in Rome for the NAB Europe convention for the game. Will definitely be listening online, though!

I might have even flown out for this game, but it happened on the one weekend I really shouldn't. I could miss the convention but I really shouldn't.

Hotel recommendations -

Hilton Inn and Gardens
Best Western
The Orrington

Second Tier -
The Purple Hotel

And various chains in Skokie by the Malls (the usual suspects are all there).

Anyway, I hope you have a nice trip.......and drown "sorrows" post game.

Go Buckeyes! Go Big Ten!

And GO :nw:

I live downtown Chicago, but thanks anyway for the hotel information. Anyone that is going to this game needs to know NOT to rely on public transportation to and from the game. I strongly suggest renting a car, driver, limo or party bus.

2 years ago the purple line ran for the game, as I took a very drunk ride up and back with close to 20 of my friends in town for the game. The ride back was just a scene straight out of the twlight zone. I love going up for games in Evanston. Chi town for a weekend and a game, nothing beter for away games.
The same group I went with last time already got a group of tickets for this one. Just hoping it ends better than the last.

Two lines

There are two purple lines.

One is the "shuttle" service which takes you from Howard Street (the literal end of Chicago) to about half a dozen stops in Evanston, including Central Street where the stadium is. That runs 24/7, so no worries about that.

There is also a downtown express purple line, but that only runs during workday rush hours.

That's actually okay as the purple express would take you more into the loop business district. The shuttle and transfer at Howard gets you more towards Rush Street, North Michigan Avenue and the other places most of the hotels are.

So, yes, you can take the "train to the game" as the CTA calls it.
