EVANSTON, ILL. --
The Ohio State baseball team took both games of a doubleheader to sweep a three-game series against Northwestern Sunday at Rocky Miller Park. The Buckeyes won the first game, 6-3, before coming back to defeat the Wildcats, 5-2, in 11 innings in game two. Ohio State improves to 31-10 overall and 12-3 in Big Ten play, while Northwestern falls to 13-29 overall and 4-11 in conference action.

"We had great starts from both of our starting pitchers today and I really liked how we played defense," head coach Greg Beals said. "We made big plays. If we can support our pitching staff with defense, they are going to be very tough. In game two, we got production from Washington and Ratcliff. It was great to see them step up and take advantage of their opportunities. We continued to show our team speed and that can certainly help your offense."

With the sweep of the Wildcats, the Buckeyes improve their win streak to a season-high seven games. Ohio State will now prepare for a Big Ten series showdown in Columbus, taking on first place and tenth-ranked Illinois (36-6-1, 13-1 B1G) Friday-Sunday at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium. All three games will be streamed on BTN Plus ($) and on the radio at AM 1460 ESPN.

Jeebus. They just had a shitty game involving a team from that state up north on this past weekend and now this weekend, one of the best series of the year, and we can't even watch it??? That sucks so much ass I can't overstate it.

Love that the Bucks are really gelling now. 7 in a row is pretty damn sweet.
