Injured Lawson could be North Carolina?s Achilles? heel
By JASON LOGAN | November 27, 2007 |0 comments![]()
If North Carolina was a drink, Ty Lawson is the straw that stirs it.
The Tar Heels? rapid-fire offense is driven by the lightning-quick point guard, who is listed as questionable for this Wednesday?s game with the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Lawson sprained his right ankle just two minutes into this past Saturday?s game against the Brigham Young Cougars at the Las Vegas Invitational. North Carolina won the tournament title with a 73-63 victory, just covering the 8-point spread.
For Wednesday?s game, line consultant Peter Korner sent out a spread of 5 ?-points in favor of UNC with Lawson?s injury in mind. If news comes down that Lawson is indeed sidelined, Korner believes books could drop that number by as many as 2 ? points.
?A player like that is a point mover,? says Korner.
