DEBuckeye

It ain't easy, bein' cheesy.
Here's what a complete Buckeye nut I am: Yesterday I was playing with my son and some of those little wooden blocks with letters on them. I started to spell out "Go Bucks" with the blocks, and realized that I had a blue "G" next to a yellow "O". Well, you can't have that, right? I hunted around for another color "O" and replaced it. My wife asked me what I was doing, and I said "The 'Go' was in michigan colors, I had to change it". She looked at me like I was completely insane.

I also won't wear anything that is predominately yellow and blue. My wife and parents know not to get me a shirt or sweater as a gift that has those colors on it, because I won't wear it.

Any of you have similar phobias about the yellow and blue?

Yup. Eventhough I think the color combo works, I wont ever buy a yellow and blue tie. The ppl who work for me bought one for me a few years ago (before the realized the error), so sometimes I have to break that one out just for appearances, but never during football season.

The week of the Michigan game I refuse to wear anything yellow or blue. But most of the time, I can wear navy blue without too much problem. I don't think I even own anything with yellow. I understand your problem with the "G" and "O" blocks - I would have done the same thing. I don't think my wife would have asked me, though, what I was doing. She's learned that asking me questions just gets her answers that have to do with Ohio State. She wouldn't be surprised to get an answer like "Because Jim Tressel said so."

My kids school colors are Blue and Gold (Olentangy). In and effort to establish some school spirit early on they encourage the kids (kindergarten) to wear school colors on Fridays during football season. My son said Oooh thats Michigan colors when my wife got his Olentangy t-shirt out this fall so he went upstairs and put his Buckeye sweatshirt on over top of it. One of my proudest moments as a parent. (now if I could only get him to actually like the football more than Brutus)
