Postgame Quotes
Bowling Green University head coach Scott Paluch
On the game
"I think we did a lot of things necessary to win a hockey game. We gave up too many second chances in the first and second periods. Ohio State is a deep team and they will capitalize on any chances you give them. But overall, I liked the way our team was playing. We created some good chances and gave ourselves some opportunities."
Ohio State head coach John Markell
On the Buckeyes' performance
"We weren't paying attention to detail. We didn't play a 60-minute hockey game. I give Bowling Green credit. They came in and played hard. We'll take the win, but will prepare for a tough game tomorrow."
On goalie Mike Betz
"Mike is a true senior and leader of our team. There are a lot of guys in that dressing room who can thank him for his performance and leadership."
Senior forward Dave Steckel
On the game
"I feel the same way coach does about the game. It didn't feel like a win in the lockerroom. We had a lot of lapses mentally - we gave up zones by bad passing and didn't get the puck in deep."
On Mike Betz
"He's awesome. He's the backbone of the team. Mike had a lot of great saves. I give him sole credit for keeping the score 3-0 going into the third."
Freshman forward Bryce Anderson
On his goal
"It was a good play by Steckel. He was able to turn the puck up in transition right away. I just made a move and buried it."
