No. 1 Ohio State vs. #9 Xavier (Game Thread)

One surprise for me is that Xavier has been giving up more fouls than normal. That has to be a concern for them.
Conversely the Buckeyes have given up more fouls than I would like. So far nobody is in serious foul trouble, but it is something to keep control on in the second half.

Oden always looks tired to me. He has sleepy eyes.

The whole team is low on emotion. Lewis has flares, but not many others. Its almost weird to watch at times how little reaction the team has to calls, fans, pressure, etc. Can't tell if its a good or bad thing, or no real thing at all.

for all the cuts, comments, and explanations for cook, one point remains constant and doubtless: he does not attack the basket on offense. except for cook's possible leg issue, a couple taped fingers should not hinder his ability to find the rim. lewis and cook are comparable athletes. lewis, however, understands that he can and should penetrate to create. on the other hand, cook has settled for outside shots and one-on-one clear outs for most of the season.

i can understand his taped fingers and the underlying problem as the reasons for his cold outside shooting. i don't understand why he doesn't use his natural ability to attack the rim. cook still plays high school basketball.
