Hey guys, I finally joined, my husband's been on the site for awhile now, I figured it was time for me to join up :)

Anyway, for my husbands birthday I got him tickets to the game saturday, 17A row 29. It'll be his/our first game at the 'Shoe, so its gonna be exciting! I was just wondering if you guys had any recommendation about what to do. I know he'll want to see the Buckeye grove, is there anything that we should know?

Looking to make this a great experience, should be AWESOME!
GO BUCKS!!

Haha, if you did he would deserve it

Of course, he wasn't even home during that game when he got banned, it was his brother! lol, he was at a bar with some buddies and his brother thought it would be funny to sign in as him. He was pissed, but not as pissed as he was after the loss. He's gonna change his password :) Brothers...I'll ever understand!

He thinks Pryor is awesome, I suppose if he can love me as much as he loves this team and players I'll never have to worry :)

And by the way, he's told me that it is never ok to boo anything tOSU, even during the big games they lost he just sat there all sad. lol, poor guy...

I'm pretty sure if someone booed Ohio State he would punch them. He refused to go to his uncles house after he said tOSU sucked, he takes it all a little...seriously. lol, guy thing I suppose :)

Get there early, walk around and enjoy the atmosphere. Attend the Skull Session at the Schott and get into your seats early enough to see the band entrance into the stadium. That is if you want to watch your husband cry over a football game before it even starts. A glorious experience.

Just make sure that you are not rushed at all. Enjoy!

Thanks for the pointers! Its a noon game and we live nearly 3 hours away, so my husband is getting a hotel in the area.

When is the Skull session? Like, really early or something? My husband said something about a pep rally that is hard to get into...he's gonna want to be in the seats early, I know that...

I'm guessing he will be in heaven...he's wanted to go to the 'Shoe forever! Thanks again for the help!

Skull Session is usually 2 hours prior to kickoff in St. John Arena, not the Schott. If you stay until just after the team leaves Skull Session you will have plenty of time to make it into the 'Shoe before the ramp entrance. Enjoy.

If you haven't arranged hotel yet, the Hyatt on Capitol Square, which has shuttles to the game, is running a promotion where you get the point spread for the last game as a discount. Pretty good deal this week. :)

Thats awesome! I just checked, it isn't working right now so I'm gonna give them a call. That would be awesome though, thanks for the tip!

EDIT: Duh, just saw that it doesn't work until Mondays...:)

For a first time to the Shoe I always recommend checking out the North end with the Stain glass for some great pictures. They also have the Heisman trophy winners pics hanging in the undercarriage just inside the gates(Troy and I believe Cassidy are around gate 9-11, where I go in) also good pics. If you can see the skull session and still get into the Shoe like a half hour before kick you will get most of the pregame festivities in, especially the band(gives me chills even in my many visits). Mirror lake/Buckeye Grove and such could wait til after the game according to your schedule. And by all means, if can be avoided, stay til after the team prays and join the fellowship of singing Carmen, Ohio. (and hearing the Victory bell ringing:biggrin:). Hope you guys have a great time, those seats sound great.(I'm in 11c this year)

P.S. Yell on all downs on Defense, not just 3rd down.
