I am going to approach this from an entirely different angle. I work with a lot of Douchebags. Unfortunately due to my position, I am unable to verbally or otherwise berate them in a way I see fit. It gives me great pleasure to come here at least once a week when there is a particularly ridiculus post and watch Mili, Di and others go off.

I am proposing a complete 180. I say we recruit one Douchebag poster from BNuts per week, invite them to come over and start up a few posts. Have some fun at their expense and then get rid of them. For example there is a "shitlap" over there today suggesting Gary Danielson be fired because he made a comment about Lebron James and the Bucks. I nominate him as the first visitor. Buki919 could be next.

You can tell just based on the title if it's a Bucknutesqe thread. Perhaps newbies with a certain rating can have threads that go to a forum dedicated to newbies, that way we can choose to go there if we want while conversely not flooding a good forum with bs threads.

You know, you guys are right....it is quite fun to lay into these idiot jack-offs. I was in a foul mood this morning when I started this, and not in the mood to read some of the stuff I did....but most days, it is actually amusing. Maybe I'll go over to BN and start insulting all the bastards. Oh, wait, I'm not a premium member, so they would just ban me...:slappy:

Yes, this COULD be done, but don't hold your breath. There is actually a system in place that would require posts and or threads be held in a moderation/approval que. There they would sit until someone (senior mod or admin I believe) looked at them and released them (approved) to the forums. Pretty slick built-in Big-Brother features if you ask me. Of course anyone who got that job (approving posts/threads) would commit suicide within a week. it would probably require 1-2 folks working full-time to keep up with the amount of posts/threads. Just isn't practicle, not does it fit with the "open" policy BuckeyePlanet is trying to foster. People can speak their mind here, but they are also tempered by the knowledge that the community WILL police their own members. Say what you want, but if it's stupid be prepared to pay the price.

FWIW, I would hope that newbies get a fair warning that their post isn't up to BuckeyePlanet standards. Instead of blasting them from the get-go, give them a nudge in the right direction and see if they take the hint. If that doesn't work, then smear the queer (not that there's anything wrong with that) rules are in full effect. :biggrin:

3yards - no way in hell do I want every thread to have to be approved. That's way too involved. Now that I'm in a better mood, I'm content to simply sit back and blast the dorks with their retarded threads. Sheesh, sometimes I can't even understand what people are trying to say. Take, for instance, the post directly above mine - what do you think this idiot is trying to say when he says "just isn't practicle"? Pretty dumb, huh? :biggrin:
