He's made no secret of that. Now he's going to get to be part of ESPN's College GameDay program, providing features as a regular contributor. Lachey, co-star of Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica and a former member of 98 Degrees, will be on site in Pittsburgh for Saturday's Notre Dame-Pittsburgh game and will be in Columbus on Sept. 10 for the Ohio State-Texas game.
"Nick is a huge sports fan and will add a unique perspective to the show," said Norby Williamson, senior vice president and managing editor, ESPN. "He will provide wide-ranging, off-the-field features spotlighting the tradition of the game, its fans, athletes and person-alities."

Its all apart of the USC Media Bandwagon. Lachey is a USC fan, and showed his excitement for the team during the Orange Bowl, so of course ESPN finds yet another way to incorporate some moron spouting off about how great USC is for a half hour.

PS: PROPS TO CORSO CLAIMING USC LOSES TWO GAMES!

he's a cinci alum, never mind all of the famous football minds you could bring to the set like Eddie George, etc. Why not bring McConagay up there too?
Actually, he's a Cinci born & bred, but I thought he went to one of the other area universities - to whit Miami of Ohio.
Nick Lachey was on summer break from studying Sports Medicine at Miami University in Ohio when he got an invitation from a high school friend to join an up-and-coming vocal group in Los Angeles. Nick had always been torn between his loves of sports and music, but it appeared that music would win out this time. Shortly after joining Jeff in California, Nick realized that his friend, Justin, and his brother, Drew, would fit perfectly in the group. A few phone calls, several plane flights, and thousands of driving miles later, the foursome was complete.

Or another version which has him KY born, Cinci bred

Nick Lachey's Biography

<script>document.write("As the Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC redefined pop music for the masses upon the closing of the 1990s, 98° were also making girls scream and swoon with their darling good looks and delightsome harmonies. Fronting the vocal group was the svelte charmer Nick Lachey. This onetime sports medicine major was a bona fide star thanks to his sensitive performance style, and a career in Hollywood seemed destined for Lachey.

Born Nicholas Scott Lachey on the border of Kentucky and Tennessee in fall 1973, he and his younger brother Drew excelled in sports and academics while attending Cincinnati's School for the Creative and Performing Arts. There, the Lachey brothers honed their vocal abilities, but it wasn't until Lachey was a student at Miami University in Ohio that he found himself seriously considering a career in music. He and soon-to-be bandmate Jeff Timmons were invited to attend auditions for an up-and-coming vocal group in Los Angeles. Drew Lachey and pal Justin Jeffre jumped aboard shortly thereafter and 98° was sired.");</script>As the Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC redefined pop music for the masses upon the closing of the 1990s, 98° were also making girls scream and swoon with their darling good looks and delightsome harmonies.
