The Most Power-Drunk
Yeah, I know that perhaps this thread could be construed to be in the wrong forum, but it's not. Trust me.

Has anyone heard the news on this? I heard a teaser a couple of minues ago on Mike & Mike that the owners and players have agreed to a salary cap, but had to get out of the car before I heard the story. Can anyone supply any details? Or is that all there is?

Oh, and to answer your questions:

1. No, I'm not a homo.
2. Because I'm too frickin lazy search the internet...and besides, this is finding out for myself...by asking you.
3. I'm planning on Signatures for lunch. They have a good Italian sub...and the barwench there is smoking hot with OUTSTANDING fakes.
4. Turkey is still the lunchmeat champion of the universe.
5. I don't want any shit from you AKAK - refer to number 4.
6. SIMV can't drink. At all. The fumes knock him on his ass.

Ah Ha.... you didn't say that you could out drink me so therefore you cannot!

Edit: I heard on the news last night that the cap has to do with each individual teams revenue or something like that.
Gee, thanks for filling those details for me...

Oh, and I didn't need to say I could out drink you, because I stated that you were a little lightweight wannabe that will pass out after smelling your wine cooler. Pussy.

They had the guy from the Toronto paper (broke the story) on 1460thefan yesterday. He said that no one would give him exact figures but the cap looks to be set at 54% of team revenue. The cap is based on individual team revenue stream, BUT there will be a floor and a ceiling. Low revenue teams minimum will be in the 22-24 million range (floor) and high revenue teams will be in the 35-38 million range (ceiling). This is the major stubling block, but there are many more issues to be decided. How will teams go from their current payroll to the new caps? Etc., etc.

Turkey? Turkey is a poser. I think future lunchmeat championships should be decided, on the field, by the animal said lunchmeat originates from.

Whoa Nellie! I think we're in for a dandy here today ...

TORONTO (Reuters) - The two sides in the National Hockey League lockout have agreed on a salary-cap system, eliminating the biggest stumbling block to resuming play next season, according to a Canadian newspaper's Web site

Although details of the proposed agreement were not released, the Globe and Mail reported that a source close to the owners said there will be a team-by-team salary floor and cap, based on a percentage of each team's revenue.

The league has previously demanded that the cap be 54 per cent of a team's revenues.

However, this does not mean that an overall deal is imminent. The negotiating teams are now working on other issues such as salary arbitration and free agency, according to GlobeandMail.com. NHL vice-president Bill Daly, the league's chief negotiator, declined to confirm or deny reports of a salary-cap deal, the newspaper said. But Daly did say publicly on Tuesday that negotiators had moved on to other issues. The lockout has already caused the cancellation 2004-05 season.

If you are going to have a contest, send in the big dogs.
Hawg.

Dogs? I didn't know this was a Korean Lunchmeat Showdown. Whatever floats your boat, I guess.

I don't care who wins anyway. When the showdown's over, I'm gonna cut 'em up and make a club sammich anyway. (No dog on my sammich though, that's disgusting.)
