I don't feel like doing research, but I sure do recall several times the lower seed has won game seven on the road in the NHL playoffs. I damn sure remember two brutal such losses for the Pens in the 90s.
It's a sport without a ton of scoring, and all of the pressure is on the home team. A couple of weird bounces of the puck and it can all end. The key is to not get to a game seven when you're the high seed.

Tied now. Seattle just isn't good enough yet. They're spunky, but they don't have the star power of FLA to match up. Florida underachieved all year and now are playing up to their ability. Seattle feels like they've been punching over their weight.

The first round managed to eliminate the team that had been in 3 straight Finals (winning 2), the defending champ, and the team that had just set a record for best regular season record.
And I was quite pleased with each of those results. Fuck off TBL, Avs and Bruins!
