ANALYSIS
Positives: Short, but has an athletic build with good upper body development and tapered legs … Has very good durability and even though he was a kicker, it was clear that he was the leader of the team … Has a great mentality and stays cool under pressure … Has the speed to run downfield on kickoffs and is not afraid to make the tackle in coverage … Has good hands to field the poor snap and will make plays as a tackler … Has above-average leg strength and consistently sees his kickoffs sail out of the end zone … Shows excellent height and trajectory on his kicks, as the ball rises quickly because of his explosive foot … Generates very good hang time on kickoffs to allow the coverage unit to get down field (4.24-second average) … Very effective at getting his kickoffs into the corners, as he can kick from both hashes with equal efficiency … Shows a good arm for the option pass … Has excellent work habits and is not the type that will sulk after missing a field goal … Right-footed soccer style kicker with excellent long range accuracy, having made eight field goals from beyond 50 yards … Made good adjustments in shortening his stride on kickoffs (went from a seven-step approach to five) … Has an above-average and very quick rise on his kicks, averaging a get-off time of 1.26 seconds. Negatives: Despite his slight frame, he insists on being involved in the coverage of kickoffs and this could one day lead to an injury … Will struggle to adjust to kicking a field goal with an off snap … Has very good leg strength, but he does tire later in the year (over-use).
