First a question and then a statement.

Why is it that there are only 3 games on every sunday on CBS and FOX combind. Either CBS or FOX carries 2, and the other carries 1. In the case of tonight, FOX does not have a 4pm game...and the Vikings vs. Cardianls should be on, because that's a hell of a game. There has to be something that keeps FOX from showing the second game here, because you can't tell me they'd rather have paid programming on.

And on that note, why doesn't the NFL get a 3rd network in on the deal...maybe like ABC. So then there would be 3 games on at once. I'm sure it is a money issue, as far as how much the NFL makes on NFL ticket, but couldn't they make a good amount from ABC in giving them the rights to two games as well a week.

I'm sure it all makes sense to somebody, but it just doesn't to me. I also think once high school football season is over, there should be Friday Night Football. More nighttime nationally tevevised games would be great. Once CFB and HS football is over, u could have a Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday game. Man...every night would be sweet.

As far as ABC is concerned I know they are part of the Disney/ESPN/ABC family, and ABC has most of the rights on CFB. Since MNF has moved to ESPN, there is no more NFL on ABC. NBC has the rights to the night game on Sunday, CBS and FOX usually have the regional afternoon games. NFL Network is the "third" network and they own the Thursday Night Football.

I agree it sucks that fans usually only see three games on Sunday, regardless of what is on. And it's all regional, so if you live up north and the Lions are getting blown out, it's too bad. You won't get the Atlanta-Tampa Bay overtime thriller.

Well, we technically get 4 here since we don't have a home team, but as I understand it:

CBS gets the AFC
Fox get the NFC
NBC gets SNF

Now, for me, either CBS or Fox will have a morning and afternoon game depending on the week. One week fox will have a morning and afternoon game, and the next CBS will. Anyways, that's the contract that the NFL signed with the networks.
