Just so I have this straight;

Chris Hanburger and Les Richter are in the HOF. Randy Gradishar is not.

Face Palm - (n) The reaction to an idea that is so stupid, so ridiculous, the only remedy is a quick slap of the open hand to the forehead.

I agree, though those 2 players took the senior nomination to get there, which Gradishar has not received yet. Once he does, I believe he will be in as well.

As for Carter, he not only didn't get in, he may not get in ever. There is a vocal minority of voters who refuse to vote him in, and he finished behind Brown and Reed last year.

To further rub salt in the people (like me) who really want to see Carter get in, the final list started with 15 modern guys, of which 5 (Dent, Sabol, Faulk, Sanders, Sharpe) were picked. The guys who made the first cut were Reed, Roaf, Martin, Dawson, and Kennedy...

...which means that Carter, along with Tim Brown, Doleman, Haley, and Bettis were the FIRST cut. So Andre Reed has finished higher than Carter the last 2 years, so if and when the next WR gets in, it looks like it will be Reed, not Carter.

At least OSU was represented by Ed Sabol, who was a great athlete in his own right.

The token old guy enshrinements have gotten ridiculous. Hanburger? Seriously? And with all due respect, if Richter was all that they would've inducted him before he died last year at the age of 79. :roll1:

I'm glad to see Martin and Bettis deservedly omitted, but Carter continues to get screwed. I guess he'll have to wait until he drops dead at 80 and then they'll let him in the hall.

Well with due respect to Hanburger, he made 9 Pro Bowls and was defensive POY once. I think Randy Gradishar is plenty deserving of enshrinement, and he made 7 Pro Bowls and was defensive POY once. Hard to get too pissed about one when I'm such a big fan of the other. Richter also made 8 straight Pro Bowls...I was a little surprised he made it, but that's not an average accomplishment. The guys that can really frost me are guys like Art Monk and Lynn Swann...guys with 3 Pro Bowls who were sometimes not even the best player at their position on their own team...while guys like Carter (8 Pro Bowls) and Tim Brown (9 Pro Bowls) don't even make the first cut?

Fuck Neon Deion, that big vagina.

I'm not going to try and discredit any of the guys that made it in tonight. They were all excellent football players and they're getting what they deserve. However, I refuse to believe that Chris Carter isn't as deserving (I believe more) than any of them. When a top-3-all-time receiver can't make it in, you know the process is a scam.

this is what happens when media members get to decide things like this.....

Don't know if anybody else has been watching the NFL network specials this week on the hall of fame inductees. So far the Ed Sabol and Shannon Sharpe docs have been great. Really looking forward to Sharpe's speech after watching his story, it's going to be really emotional I think.
