I mean, by letter of the rule that wasn't a TD

But...the rule is bull[Mark May]. Gotta correct the rule, but it was the correct call as it's written

Yeah...I don't get it, especially since he crossed the goal line. I thought after a player secured the ball and crossed the goal line, the play was dead. That's why guys dive into the endzone and lose the ball dozens of times every weekend, but they all count as TDs, not fumbles.

Not arguing with you or anyone here, it just doesn't make sense.

The Calvin Johnson play years ago was also in the EZ. I know what you mean though. On this play, the laces fucked him. If he had the ball in any other position, they couldn’t have overturned it, but he caught it laces out, and then they disappeared.

If they overturn that TD ...

Yeap... what a load of bs. He has clear possession until his wrist hits the ground.

This is everything that’s wrong with the NFL in a nutshell....

Another NE/Tom Brady fuck job

Ask any Cowboys fan if "Dez caught it" on 4th down at Green Bay in the 2014 playoffs. It's a BS rule, and we know it, but the Steelers aren't exempt from it.

Goes with the whole "process of the catch" bullshit. Yes, ground can't cause fumble, but can cause incomplete

True. But I don't think there was any clear angle in which you saw the ball hit the ground either. Yeah, I know, common sense and all, but we always hear that it has to be indisputable evidence to overturn. Every review seems to have different parameters by which the refs judge it.

EDIT: I see, so you're saying the laces hit the ground? I'll have to rewatch.

What is worse is if he was touched on the back there before he crosses the line and doesn't drop it. He's down short. So you have to wait till the ground to see if it is a catch but you won't mark it where he goes to the ground. The whole rule is inconsistent as fuck.

Is it, though? Why isn’t it dead once he crosses the goal line? He had clear possession and made a football move. And if that’s not a catch, why is the one the next play a catch when the player didn’t get out of bounds? The ball came out after he hit the ground. What’s the difference?

Pittsburgh got fucked....and as usual it’s the Patriots who benefit.
