I'm down... I'm booked next weekend (25th-27th) and the football season starts the weekend after that. I think it would be awesome to get everyone together on a Saturday so we could all watch the game together, and play poker afterwards. If we have it at the same place as last time, I can bring my tv. We could cook out and the whole 9 yards. This time though, I think everyone should bring a food item and make it a pot luck type event instead of Ryn shelling out all of the money for food.

I disagree. I think Ryn should shell out all of the money for food AND provide the booze. Seems fair to me. :p

I'm in. If the get together were to be on a game day, it seems like it would be a good idea to have it during an away game against an inferior opponenet, i.e. Illinois or NW. That way, fewer people will be at the game and it is less likely for there to be a riot. :!

FWIW 9/2 I'm out of town, 9/9 I'm out of town at one game or another, if I can't get Texas squared away my back-up plan is to catch one likely opponent for the Glendale BCS game in their tilt earlier that day against Penn State.
What about 9/16 or an early October gig? - Though I'd have to catch up with everyone else as I have tickets to the Bowling Green game, so I'd miss seeing the game with all and sundry.

Whatever happens this time timBuck2 must not lose his shirt!

I think the best date out of all of those is 10/7. I think 9/16 is a little to soon and we wouldn't really have time to get everything squared away. The Iowa game would be good... but it's a night game and we would have to do the poker before the game... which I guess wouldn't be a problem. I'm down for whatever. I'm not organizing this one, so someone tell me when it is and I'll be there.

Oh, Louise... I told you that you could go with me :wink:

Why don't we get together, since not many of us can afford the Tejas game. and have a little chili "Ohio style" cook off on that Sat. We could bring tv's and whatnot and have the poker tourney too. Everyone bring a crock pot of chili. Hell I don't know about everyone else but I love to cook chili (although I usually have to dip out about half before I add the spices for the wife and kids).

I could lend a big screen (44) if I can get someone to help me haul it out of the basement and put it back. I am sure we could get a bunch of other tv's through out.

just a thought....

If everyone brought a pot of chili, and/or the fixins that would take care of the food and it wouldn't be one persons problem. The way I figure, corn bread, some corn on the cob, chips, and chili should do it, food wise.
