Newbie section?

Because Clarity and the admins and mods that runs this place kick so much ass, BP has become very popular (duh). An idea that I had (which I'm sure has been kicked around before) was to add a section for new members to post and say hi, ask questions, and just test the water before posting in the football boards or recruiting boards or whatever. We could move the "Sound Off" thread into that section, as well as a sticky of the rules we sorta follow (no duplicate posts, no posting of premium content, no asking questions regarding the existence of the PCP).

I'd tend to vote no... One thing that's made this place grow so quickly while still remaining a community is the ease with which new posters can join the fray, welcome to contribute at any point. I don't think separating them would continue to encourage this.

A while ago there was some work being done to create a FAQ section on this site as a place to point new members on how the site works, what options were, rules, etc. It hasn't been worked on in a while because of, well, life being busy (no posts since March). 3yards created an outline sticky'd to the top of that forum and if you want to help out with any of it send him a PM.

Did you suggest/invite someone to join the site? If so, when they registered here, there would be a space to put the user that refered them to the site(if there was one).
