New TV, Big problems...

So I got a new 50 inch Sanyo plasma. It is easily the biggest TV I have ever owned. Problem is when I started playing CoD on it and I have had ALOT of trouble aiming, moving, etc.

My first thought was to turn down my sensitively from 8 to 4. It helped but I was turning way too slow. Next thought: sit further back. Didn't help.....

Any idea's? I am playing horribly and need some help or tips from guys who have went from a much smaller TV to a massive one.

It's probably your HDMI cable. Try this one

It's only $2,200 online.

After playing a little bit more, I do think it indeed may have me sitting way too close to the TV. After I quit being a baby and just sucked it up and took the deaths, I started gettin use to it.

I do think however a new HDMI cable will need to be bought. The one I have is a piece of shit and I could go for a new one.

FTR, it is a 50' Sanyo Plasma.....

When i switched from a 27 inch to 46 inch HD LCD/LED TV i had a lot of trouble getting used to Halo and CoD. I'm still not totally used to it, but it gets better. I think just playing and messing with the sensitivity is the best thing to do.

If your Xbox/PS3, or whatever, is sitting right next to the TV the HDMI cable isn't going to matter. Basically any HDMI cable is the same as another if the distance the signal has to go is 6ft or less. You don't need to go buy a $90 cable, when a $10 will do the same thing for that distance. You only need the really good/expensive HDMI cables when going over 6ft and with Blu-ray movies.

Gotta get used to it. I have the opposite problem.. I've been playing on a 110" screen (and a 85" before that).. I can't play for shit on a smaller set, even playing NCAA or Madden takes me a quarter or two to adjust.

Yeah, it's tough not to sit too close to a 50 foot tv.

I'd much rather play a FPS on a smaller screen (32"). A huge tv has to much real estate.
I play almost exclusively on my 27" TN panel monitor, but it is also on the desk or table in front of me instead of across the room, making it a bigger viewing area than the 50" flat panel.

Wife and daughter wanted a bigger TV for our living room so that's what I did. I was fine with my smaller TV, I loved that piece of shit. This new one is primarily used for watching Barney while my daughter watches so intently.

Rrobably gonna be looking for a new home with a man cave before too long.

Pheasant posted a pretty unbeatable deal. It's like gold and [Mark May]. Top of the line. AND it's got a LED light with a button that probably does something important like make that shit look awesome. I say go for it.

It looks like I made a mistake earlier, but don't worry. I found the one you really need...it's actually going to be the audio quest Diamond HDMI in 52.6'. It's a steal at $13,500.

If you couple that with their 25' pair of Flat Rock Series K2 prepared speaker cables at a bargain basement price of $42,950 you'll be set.

This is the deal of the century...screw the $800 TV, that's not the deal. The $43k in video and audio cables is where the REAL deal is
