New Posts link question

Maybe I've missed an explaination for this already, and If I have, sorry... Why when I click new posts do I not ever see a new post from the Poli forum?

EDIT: Also, this particular thread should show up on the new posts link too, and yet does not....

Humm, I know that some of the forums are prohibited from showing up on the top 10 lists that are seen in the Forum Lobby. Maybe this function is tied together with the new posts list? At least until Clarity works thru all the nuiances of the new software.

Just a guess.

EDIT: Well that can't be as this now shows in the top 10 list on the forum lobby. I got nothing here.:biggrin:

I've noticed that too. If I make a post, it doesn't show up on the new posts board at all, other people's posts will update the new posts links but not mine. From the sounds of it, GoBucks89 can see my posts as updating threads, but cannot see his own.

I've also noticed that if a thread shows up in New Posts, then I go to that thread and view it, and then hit New Posts, the thread is gone. I don't even have to post on it, just viewing it makes it disappear.

I think maybe it has to do with posts being "new to you" That is, I looked at Golfer's post, but didn't respond and then when i went "new Posts" the tread was gone. So, since I looked at it, maybe it's not considered "new" anymore.

Old sys. was new relative to other threads, the new sys appears to be new with respect to other threads as well as ones you've looked at (individually)

This would also account for why when I post a post it doesn't show up "new" to me, as I already am aware I made a post having made it, and thus don't need it listed as new.

Edit - 89 beat me to it.
