New poker championship ignored

RLC65

Senior
I have busted my butt for weeks now to become the flash poker champion. This morning I did it. Fair and square. 10102 points, virtually 4000 more than the current guy. And do you suppose the program will accept my submit score click? Noooooo! Rest of the game works fine. One can continue playing, the bleeping Queen's eyes still blink appropriately, the game calculates everything fine.
Is this a big deal in the broad tOSU picture of things? No doubt not to you, but it is to me. I complained about this tendency of the arcade programs to refuse to record scores way back awhile. The answer I got was "sigh"..we need a new server." Submit scores has worked pretty well for some time more recently, it picks my sterling effort to freeze up on this morning.
I did print out a copy of the screen. I will be glad to mail it to you so you can credit me properly. Just tell me where.

Well, this morning I scored almost as well and assumed my rightful championship. Which suggests there IS justice in the world, and perhaps that feeling guilty the powers that be rigged the game so I could get a similar score :wink2:
I can calm down now.

Alright everyone, start playing poker right now. We can't let RLC keep that high score can we? Heck no I say. At least it will give him some motivation to get back out there and take the title back. I'm worried that if he keeps the high score unchallenged he will lose focus and motivation. Don't let him slip into complacency.

Ok just kidding RCL. Glad that things worked out for you.

BTW, I'm hearing that when the new server comes online, the arcade games will need to be reinstalled and all the counters and high scores will be reset. Sorry.

OK, I'm kidding about that too.

George Costanza (I assume he is that guy on Seinfeld, which I never watch) is much too young for me to emulate.
Actually it did occur to me that a new server might well have to reset Arcade scores. But that was too horrible for me to contemplate, so I lay down until the feeling passed.

I believe the arcade will be adapted to the new version of vbulletin. If it's not, there's another one that already has been, and I *believe* it allows me to import all the existing high scores.

And yes, I believe the new machine will greatly reduce, perhaps even completely eliminate the times that the mysql database is choking, and a score is lost between the shockwave game and the server.

First of all, I am a really old guy, so don't be tryin to hurt me. Respect your elders.

Second, I think I understood what Clarity said. Just don't be messin with my new high score for a while.(Remember, any stroke I might have as a result will be on your consciences for a long, long time)
