New Orleans/Katrina 6 Years Later

Katrina doesn't have the emotional effect of watching the World Trade Center fall but never in recent times has a major city been so destroyed and a population resettled. So, where are we now with preventing a second devastating disaster in one of this countries signature cities?
And why are we so ambivalent?
