New Offense Unveiled - what did you think?

I have no clue why some of you are so afraid of scum. You act like they the best team off all time. But they are not they have a one-man offense and a decent defense. Sure we could get our asses kicked but I doubt it. This is the scum game where anything can and will happen.<O:p

I liked the new offense. It took the first half for it to get going but once it did we moved the ball consistently. Yes, we need to work on catching the ball and holding on to it once we do catch it but at least the offense did something. I felt in the first half Smith was forcing the ball Ginn. In the second half Smith was seeing the field better and thus the offense got going.<O:p</O:p

osugrad21, you couldn't be more correct. it makes me wonder how many of these people have actually watched an tOSU michigan game. this game goes so far beyond skill, records, and stats it is beyond words. this game is without question the single greatest rivalry in sports. it sure as hell didn't become such a rivalry by the team that was supposed to win winning every single time. i think its fairly obvious many of you weren't tOSU fans during the 90's!

Good grief.. I couldn't even read this whole thread after the first page.

Anyway, to the original point. I like the new look. It's the best bet to get Ginn the ball and when we start getting him the ball in the flow of the game (instead of forcing it) it will work. Our WR need to do a better job of holding onto the ball (or at least not popping it up into the air) and this would have been one of our best offensive efforts of the year. I am excited about the depth at WR, but wondering why some of these guys aren't at CB.

I'm glad TS finally threw a pick (wish it was just one). If you go a whole year without one you're not pushing it enough. Tress should have given him the chance to throw more the previous three weeks (when he didn't have to on 3rd and long) to get some confidence/experience. Smith is growing on me and I think he might be the future at QB.

I also like the option with TS, Pittman and TG. When we were moving the ball the option was at least a threat and that made the D play more honest.

I hope scUM has the same mentality that KillerNut has...and doesn't even think they need to show up for The Game. Tressel and the Buckeyes are going to bring their A-game. And if you have an opprotunity to be at The Shoe this Saturday and even THINK about passing it up...then you don't know what it this series means and what being a Buckeye means. Am I the only one that has spent the past 2 years looking forward to this game? I LOVE getting these MFers in The Shoe...and I don't care if we are 0-10...i'm going to be pumped up hard core!

The Buckeyes have nothing to lose in this game, plus it's going to be in
The Shoe... That's a big advantage. It's so much fun when you're a player out there with no pressure and nothing to lose. You're fighting for pride and just trying to smack some people as hard as you can to make them remember that you are The Buckeyes. Its always ALWAYS a GREAT game no matter what the score or records are !!!

If OSU's Offense and Defensive linemen can step it up just a little for this game (and they will!!), then we are all going to see a GREAT game no matter what. I dunno bout you guys, but I am going to cheer for the Buckeyes because this is when they need it most. Support your team no matter what the score or records are. I swear on my mother and father if I see some fan and/or ushers(just teasing KillerNut hehe) or even announcers bitching and not getting into this game then they are going to have a 6'4" -275 Buckeye fan with blazing eye tackling their ass right there in the Stands !!!
THIS IS BUCKEYE vs. tsun WEEK AND THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR NOT BEING EXCITED OR LOVING YOUR TEAM NOW!!! GO BUCKEYES !!! God I feel like going outside and blocking out the first car that drives by my house!!! I love this WEEK WoooooHooooooo !!! If any of Ohio State fan cannot get pumped for on Michigan week then god help you !!!

I love when tsun has third and whatever and the stadium gets so loud sometimes it hurts your ears but you yell even louder. That gives me goosebumps to this day!!!
Also a fairly new thing is that Hells Bells DONG on third down ... That is great too !!
Also for some reason when all the players come out , especially against tsun, from the Tunnels and they are going crazy and jumping up and down. ITS a sight that still makes me shake ...
This is and always will be a special game that is a gift to behold !!!!
GO BUCKEYES !!!

Like all of you i have watched this offense struggle thru 10 games, and like all of you i have heard every possible scenario as to why it struggles. This may sound to simplistic for some of you but the problem starts up front don't you think?

I don't buy the notion just yet that it's the coach's fault. Let's not forget correct me if i'm wrong but are not 3 of last years line starting in the NFL? These kids are getting a lesson from some pretty good defensive lines and don't forget most of the line is new. The only thing that does bother me some is there doesn't seem to be any cohesiveness yet in the line.

That could be happening for a number of reasons, the constant shifting and rotating of lineman to find the right group, and at the same time trying to get some experence in the whole rotation. What do you think?

Absolutely bro...been some good discussion around here concerning that fact. The O-line is below average at best. Some of those guys need to pick it up or this will their only year as a starter...some good prospects waiting and coming in.

I thought the set was a pretty good set considering what we have on the field..... A quick Qb, a Quick Running back, and Ginn all in the backfield has to get something going I guess? Just give it alittle more time when they get comfortable and maybe it'll work out? I'm ready for this week, and the bad thing is I have two essay's due this week and I know I'll be occupied think'n of THE GAME. The only thing I think the buckeyes Need to do in this game IMO is to stop Hart. Henne will get harassed I think in this game, and won't have the time that he usually does. Avoid the big play to Edwards, and stop hart and we have a more than average shot at this game....

Am I the only one who noticed that the Buckeyes had nearly 270 yards of total O in the 2nd half yesterday? Maybe a light has gone on. We definitely would have won had we not turned the ball over twice in the red zone.
