Screw Blue
  • we just got 4 new IBM Lenovo laptops to use for company travel -

    Lenovo 3000 v100
    2.0ghz
    1GB RAM

These little bastards are pretty cool, built in privacy filter on the screen, bluetooth, ect.

the only complaint that i have is that when you close the screen there isn't a clasp - just person preference i guess. anywho, we are shipping them to Orlando for our company user group meeting, when we beat them up for a week on the road, i'll let you know more.

Ya, but Lenovo is a Chinese company so they will put secret software on them to spy on US citizens! I'll never use one of those!!!1!1 [/sarcasm]

They do look pretty sweet... ThinkPads have always been top some of the best if not the best laptops on the market.

My company gets the T60's. I love them. We just got 20 new ones in and it's my job to set them all up.

Hate to bring back an older thread but keep us posted HAWG.
I have had three thinkpads in the 8 years I have worked here. a 570, T23 and now a T42. They take a beating and IBM was quick to fix anything wrong.

Our discount is now down to 25% from 40% and I see the 3 year warranty is an additional cost add on.

My warranty expires in early 2008 so I have some time.

status report on the Lenvos -

they held up great, worked like a charm. the only issue was that one got stolen. the hotel reviewed their tapes and didn't find anything - so the hotel is going to pay for it (already filed the insurance claim)

 just saw that on gizmodo, looks like overkill and not terribly useful.

    I want one of these:

Though I'm guessing the fold out cellphone screens will be more practical/affordable.
