New DC Thread (Merged all relevant)

I just read the most moronic post (and there are a lot of them) ever on bucknuts.

"I agree with Buckeyesal. Tressel's move is a selfish one. He wants HIS Offense and HIS Defense and has the lemmings in place to do so. No GOOD Defensive Coordinator or Offensive Coord by their rite mind would come here because GOOD D and O Coord want the ability to do it their way. Tressel wants lemmings and has them."

WOW

Those "lemmings" have produced one of the winningest programs in college football and will be in the hunt for a national championship this year.

Given the location of the NC bowl game, which way to the sea? :lift:

Nevada, Alan, Buckshots, HH....

Thanks to all of you who got involved to help on the new DC thread.

It seems that you guys may be a bit disappointed that you didn't pull the right rabbit out of the hat.

Let's be clear about this. The timing of this move is not ideal. Quite frankly, it seems to have been timed to deprive Mark Snyder of his dream job. The Buckeyes had to move fast and the appointment couldn't lead to a change of defensive scheme when we are up and running with one and so close to starting a run at the national championship.

You got Tucker right and everyone knows that. Its out there in Tressel's words. Whether he sent a written offer or not is inconsequential. Who knows, Blackney may well have been offered and turned it down or may not have been.

Who cares? Heacock and Fickell make a good team and they are Buckeyes through and through. Thanks guys and rock on Buckeyes!

The post you quoted is from one of the most negative, irrational posts on any message board. However, it is not surprising coming from that poster if you peruse that board much.

Don't judge BN on that post or even a few of the posts concerning this...for the most part, the dialogue on the DC has been a good one. Besides, we are well past the bashing BN days...

I agree with you Grad. I hope no one thought I was bashing BN.

Just making sure our guys know that they were appreciated and that we are thankful for their efforts and insights. Thanks again, guys!

To have continuity on a football staff is a very good thing. It will ensure winning seasons and there's nothing wrong with that! But you have to watch for stagnation this could kill you! Tressel knows how to win! He knows when to look for new blood and ideas! He is a control freak, but only to a point!

I think newyorkbuckeye is the only one that doesn't like the hire that has come up with some rational posts on bucknuts. I really only pursue the pay board and basketball board so I haven't seen many of that person's posts. Usually, on the pay board posts are not as bad as what they have been.

I am not judging bucknuts for some dumbasses. I like the articles and a majority of the posters on the pay board and basketball board.

Understood. I was more or less heading off the discussion before it got started...so no offense intended. We've encountered some issues due to the perception of "BN hating" so I didn't want to see another round...

Luke Fickell will one day be the HC at tOSU. He is a fan favorite. He is a players favorite and a coach's favorite. His name is well known in Buckeye circles and he is putting in his dues. I would think that he will be in charge of the DL this fall as well as Co-coordinator with Heacock and someone would come in or "move-up" to the LB job. I have heard consistently that Tovar helps out unofficially with the Bucks and he would be a solid choice. Whomever comes in is walking into a perfect situation IMO. The LB'ers are the best in the nation. The defense is probably top 3. There is not much pressure to produce out of a new guy immediately and the players they would inherit are well into the system by now and already perform well.
