The Ohio State track and field program will enter a new era this season. When former coach Russ Rogers announced his retirement on June 5, the program essentially lost two coaches as Rogers commandeered both the men's and women's teams for 18 and 12 years, respectively.

Memories of Russ Rogers: US Olympic Sprinters missing their pre-lims in Rome because the coach couldn't read the schedule.

A long line of one dimensional teams... thank God someone hired a throws coach to help the man out...

looks like a real switch in the thrust of the program, from 'sprints only' to a distance minded program. With all the excellent high school CC and distance programs in the state it's about time the program expanded. I wish the new coaches well.
