Nebraska Cornhuskers (corn)

Good for the Huskers. They deserve it.
I live in the burbs of Omaha, they are great fans...passionate, smart and gracious.

Most Cornhusker fans would not call Wisconsin successful..right or wrong.
It's understandable. It has to be hard for the fans from.the Osbourne era to swallow. I think Frost will be a big boost for them, but I just don't think in today's world a program like Nebraska can get to the level of the bammers and tOSU's that they want to reach. If they can get to Wiscy or even Sparty's level, they will be doing pretty well.

Honest assessment but college football fans are not rational.

My pastor (Louisiana transplant, self described "Husker fan") is going ape over the hire right now:
He and I are texting one another....

He's a bulldog - he's changed subjects 15 times by now to try to prove his point.

Holy shit, my brain hurts. I’ve never seen anyone text that terribly and people can be pretty lazy when it comes to texting. Btw...Find a new church.

I can't stand this "It's in the middle of the country" argument. Players play for coaches, not for places.

Major flaw here... Coaches come and go, and there is regional/local loyalty.
A lot of kids would play for certain nearby schools regardless who the coach is.

As the recruiting saying goes... you don't commit to a coach, you commit to a school.

It is, but recruiting in Nebraska is even tougher than in Wisconsin. Not a perfect measure by any means, but here is how many recruits from each state are listed on 247's composite rankings over the last five years:

2012
Nebraska: 8
Wisconsin: 18

2013
Nebraska: 29
Wisconsin: 32

2014
Nebraska: 13
Wisconsin: 39

2015
Nebraska: 13
Wisconsin: 28

2016
Nebraska: 11
Wisconsin: 29

2017
Nebraska: 16
Wisconsin: 32

I don't know what the answer is at NU, but it starts with a very robust walk-on system (which I understand they already have).

Aren't a lot of Wiscy's RBs from Jersey though?
Just saying. There is a necessity to recruit outside not just the state, but the bordering states too.
In the past Nebraska did well in Texas. Bo seemed to get some kids from Ohio. Frost will probably need to recruit Florida.
I don't know what Wisconsin's hookup has been in Jersey (since the days of Ron Dayne) ... but they consistently pull studs from there.
