NDSU 27, Minnesota 21 (final)

the whole big ten is... just bad... This is a transition era for the big ten IMO. There has been only 1 truely dominant team the past 6 years. Ohio State. We need teams like Minnesota, MSU, Purdue, Iowa, and Wisconsin to step up and make this an elite conference... With Michgain sputtering, and PSU always being a question mark it leaves OSU as the only team that wins with an regularity.

This would be the second I-A team ND State has beaten this year. So I really doubt much will be made of this - it's not a shocker that Minnesota is a bad, bad team.

Personally,

I think coughing up that huge lead to Texas Tech in last year's Insight Bowl started everything.

Why did they fire Mason?

2006 Insight Bowl.

A history of underachieving.

Blocked punt against Wisconsin in 2005

Fourth quarter collapse against scUM in 2003.

Final play against Northwestern in 2000.

NEVER beat tOSU.

IMO, Mason had only two great moments:

1999 Penn State and 2005 scUM game.

Which all adds up to being the best Minnesota coach since what, the 30s?

Minnesota is a garbage program that Mason infused a bit of success into, I don't think I will ever understand his firing
