NCAA2011 (PS3) 3rd Annual BP Online Dynasty

Maybe I missed this earlier, but how did Utah end up with Tennessee as a pipeline state? I'm pretty sure that nobody on the team is from there and there isn't one recruit in that state remotely interested in Utah.

In my test offline dynasty the Utah pipeline states were Cal, Utah, and Tex.

That is interesting...

Anyone else notice that for teams that moved to different conferences?

This is messed up, on the website, it shows Texas as the pipeline state. I'll see if it's back to Texas tomorrow on the PS3. It was definitely Tennessee earlier tonight. I was wondering WTF are all these Tenn guys showing up on my pipeline recruit search and then I checked the profile map and Tenn was highlighted.

That's what I did.
I saw your original post on bpSpy, and didn't see the strike through until I had already sent you a PSN message, and posted on here without actually reading the post that I quoted. Once I saw the strike through, I figured that you wouldn't just whack the dynasty and start over. :)

Pipeline still screwed...

Well, I was hopeful after seeing the pipeline correct on the online dynasty webpage, but when I checked it this morning it's still jacked on the PS3.

I'm totally confused on how this will affect recruiting because I don't know if I'll see any pipeline bonuses in Texas. I suppose I could drop most of my recruits in Texas and work with 2 pipeline states to start off with, but I'll probably end up landing a class slightly better than my bad team league one.

Proof is attached:
Yea, you can see where I'm recruiting, at this point it probably won't matter. This is a bug and it's gonna fuck me.

That is certainly messed up. I guess my suggestion is to try it on the PC, and on the PS3. Use two lower rated guys from Texas, and recruit one of them from your PC and one from your PS3. If you get pipeline bonuses on both, your pipeline is Texas, regardless of what the map says. If you don't get pipeline bonuses on either recruit, then Texas is not your pipeline state, regardless of what the map says. If you get pipeline bonus from Texas only when you use your PC, then only recruit your texas guys from your PC, and your Tennessee guys from your PS3...just like having one more pipeline state, except now you have the added headache of having to switch back and forth between systems.

Yea, that's what I'm thinking. What I think may happen is that I'll get the pipeline bonuses on the PC for Texas and I won't get them when I'm on PS3... So I may be resigned to recruiting from the PC, which is a little irritating because it doesn't sort as well as the PS3. Whatever happens I'll roll with it and maybe it'll work itself out in year 2 of the dynasty when everything recalculates. I just would rather not lose Texas as a pipeline state, lol.

I'll keep you all updated when we advance to week 1.

Yeah, let me know when we do advance to week 1...

Speaking of, we should be advancing to Week 1 tonight. I was able to write down all the schedules and stuff yesterday but didn't have time to plug them into the schedule and start fitting games in. Will be able to do everything via paper today and then customize the schedules tonight.

I will try to give everyone a warm up game before any human games (ie no human games in Week 1). Just so everyone can have at least one game with their team before going into the grind of human opponents.

Also, in switching conferences it seems like no new rivals were picked up. Meaning if you are in a new conference you do not have a conference rival. So what I will attempt to do is schedule at least one of your non-conference games against your rival. I will try to put them in as late as possible. They will not always be home games (every other year). So will try to even them out for everybody as possible.

I am in the middle of updating posts #1-#3. I do want to go over some options via rules. Like do we go with All-American recruiting? Ice the kicker is off unless you guys want it on. And do you think 7 minute quarters is a good amount of time or ya want to lengthen/shorten the game time?

FYI - I have updated Post #2 to reflect the tentative dates for the human non-conference games.

Also, the future schedules post has also been updated.

Rule #1 was you two can't be in the same conference. It doesn't mean you two can't play a non-conference game. I also predict you two will play in a bowl game just to fuck with you two.

Speaking of which... The order in which you see the teams listed in post #1 was the result of that number exercise I had you guys do to determine the future schedules. Basically I created a schedule with numbers 1-12 in groups of two for conferences. When you guys said 1A or 3B, 1A = #1 schedules and 3B meant #6 schedule. (of course the other conference mate was forced to take the other letter) So if you didn't pick a number/letter combo, and you didn't like your schedule, blame your conference mate  Thankfully Nole picked 'A' so I can be #12 which meant I got to play BN the 1st season :groove:

One last thing... for now I have the speed settings listed as default. Is there any reason to change these default settings?
If you're looking for a real life speed differential, then Oneback at the gaming tailgate ran a ton of tests in practice mode and was able to get as real of a 40 yard dash as you can get by setting the differential to 15. He basically ran a practice from the 40 yard line, set two guys with identical ACC ratings and audibled them to streak 40 yards. Then he hit replay so he could see what the gap between the two was when the first guy got to the goalline.

I'm leaving mine at 65 for season 1, and will look at all sorts of slider changes for season 2. My opinion is that there are still enough deficiencies in the game, that trying to achieve "real" speed differential will just lead to outrageous exploits of those deficiencies.

Having said all that. I really don't care where it's set for this dynasty, but thought that Oneback's test was pretty cool, and wanted to share. :)
