Yeah, I actually thought it was more like 4 or 5 players that took issue with the sliders.

I think that going to the ones that I'm using in the B10P10 is a horrible idea though. Piney's right. I just about pooped myself when I saw Buchtel put up a 119-3 win against Pitt. Having the league results heavily weighted on human games makes me care less about those scores though.

You had 5 5*s and a bunch of 3*s...not really sure how you would pass me. Guess I should of just added a bunch of those 4*s that were still interested.

The 3*'s were all for depth the next couple of years. I am getting low on lineman. I've also noticed you can pull some 3*'s that are better players than 5*'s depending on your system. Jordan was a 3*. The difference between 3*'s and 4*s is very small.

The last few years I have only taken 5*'s and high 4*'s and it's caused me some depth issues. I still have some depth but not enough to feel comfortable everywhere. Basically I got too selective.

That doesn't mean anything with these sliders. Hell, no one can catch a cold.

Thats what user catch is for...also he will be on the bench for 1 maybe 2 seasons.

I am pretty proud of this class from a ranking standpoint. It is pretty tough to recruit the big time recruits in any large quantity. I may have one game-changer in this class @ RB-Harris, but the three 5* recruits will all red-shirt and the one CB may never start. I'm hoping that the 14 3* will develop in couple of years to low to mid 80 type players for depth.

I have recruited very well on defense and the skill positions but I had to take a ton of 3 * OL this year.

It's weird. 6 of the 3*'s I got are rated in the upper 70's while 2 of the 4*'s are middle 70's. Especially speed.

Case in point,
Allen 5* QB - 79 - recruited all year, hours a week
Douglas 3* QB - 75 - higher THP by 3 and lower THA by 1 and didnt recruit until week 2 of the off-season

I agree with that, but with my Offense my slot guy was fairly speedy. Couldn't run a route to save his life. So if I have someone come in at 89 speed or 91 speed, I'm looking for the other minor differences that mean a lot against humans. The other guys I got were no slackers.

My 4 star guy is lame too. A big run stopping LB with no speed but awesome tackle and block shed. I found a spot for him at DE.

I'd have to go back through the thread to check, but I think UK started out as a 77 OVR team. They were still 77 in year 2. They were only up to an 82 by year 4. Now that my first class of mostly 3* guys are in the their 4th season I'll jump up to a 91 or 92 OVR. The depth of mostly 3 and 4* guys that I have behind that first class are going to keep UK a very good team until 2010 comes out.

That's at least one thing about this game that is pretty realistic. Getting those blue chippers is nice, but getting quality 3* guys is paramount.

Now that my first class of mostly 3* guys are in the their 4th season I'll jump up to a 91 or 92 OVR. The depth of mostly 3 and 4* guys that I have behind that first class are going to keep UK a very good team until 2010 comes out.

That's at least one thing about this game that is pretty realistic. Getting those blue chippers is nice, but getting quality 3* guys is paramount.

Thats my point. It just seems they develop better. I have had 4 top 10 classes and my team is still not going to be rated 90 OVR. Pretty lame, but I may be doing something about that.

Yeah 3* are where the gems are. This is where going strictly by how high a player is rated doesn't really work. Who would you rather have, the 5* 20th overall rated HB that runs a 4.41 or a 3* 615th rated recruit that runs a 4.22 with A+ Acceleration?

And like Iron mentioned, awareness plays too big a factor in a player's overall rating. Speed, Agl, Acc and then the individual defensive ratings are more important. And for QBs it is all about THP & THA (along with speed if you play that type of offense) How much does Awareness factor in when you control them the whole game? So if you take a player with good attributes but bad awareness, they are more likely to see alot of improvement during the season as their awareness increases.

As for overall rating... it has been a struggle getting SMU up. I started with a 69 overall rating with my offense and defense rated in the low 70s. Now it seems like my team will be in the mid 70s but my offense will be rated 82 and defense in the upper 70s. And my team is full of Juniors & Sophomores and only have 10-12 seniors. So when those guys become seniors, my rating should finally hit the 80s.

Well. I have a ton of HBs, so I tried to take the 5'8" 166lb 5* HB with 4.41 speed to help my recruiting rankings. I was going to cut him immediately afterward, but a cpu team (Ohio State, I think) beat me out.

That is funny, cuz that is what I ended up doing. I stole an OLB from Whobe and will probable cut him All in the name of inflating my recruiting ranking
