It seems to be the experience of the Human players in this Dynasty that the athletes you make promises to secure their commits...... those players tend to try to transfer and leave for the NFL earlier?
Yes and No, I think the issue with promises is that they cause the mass transfers.

Good seasons cause players to leave for the NFL.

Yeah, the people you promise things to are more likely to transfer (not really leave for the NFL since it happens their FR or SO year). Even if you fullfill the promise there is a chance they will transfer. Heck, we had a guy win the heisman and want to transfer???

Seems like a bug in the online dynasty. Add that to the bug that doesn't allow you to sway players from leaving and it is frustrating. The main reason we go offline for this.

The good thing is with the dynasty offline I can kinda 'cheat' to make sure guys don't leave that obviously should not leave. An example is my ROLB that wants to transfer. I promised him no redshirt & playing time. He started from day 1 and played a ton as I made sure he was in on all dime coverages as he was my fastest and best coverage LB (I think he made the all-freshman team) And he wants to transfer? The same goes for most everybody's freshman transfers. Now there are also transfers of guys that were buried on the depth chart. Those guys I don't 'cheat' to keep and most people are honest about it.

And it seems (as in Smooth's case with Motley) they might try to transfer a 2nd time.

So in other words... don't count on getting all these transfers to actually get to you :wink2: But if they do, they have to sit a year anyway, so you won't be able to use them for a year.

HB Little (87) NFL - Figured as much....20, 20, 20
SS Hall (79) Transfer to BYU - WTF? Started from day 1! MAX!
QB Walker (79) Transfer to BYU - Again, see above! Was a freshman all american.....anyway, throw Max at him as well.

Don't underestimate the benefits of plural marriage.

Making promises makes players from your entire recruiting class more likely to transfer. Not necessarily the player that you made the promise to.
Both of the guys trying to transer from Kentucky are Sophomore(RS)...the last season that I made promises to players. Mills signed during the season...no promises made to him, and he tried to transfer last season despite being second on the depth chart to a 5th year SR. Trying to transfer this season despite being the highest rated FS.

TEXAS A&M
FS Noel (93) NFL
QB Dorman (92) NFL
WR Jordan (89) NFL
LG Chevalier (88) NFL

In this order if at all possible:

Jordan: MAX
Dorman: MAX
Noel: MAX
Chevalier: MAX

I've simmed this about a dozen times and I usually lose one person. I'm just hoping that one person doesn't have 99 speed.

I quit making promises several seasons ago and have not had a transfer request since. You may lose some recruits but to me it is worth not having surprises.
